Hello all, I have a Sony Qualia 004 that has been acting up lately. It has about 1120 hours on its second lamp. It has had a yellow tint that covered the entire screen area during bright scenes for a while. Recently, I have started to notice a very slight blue tint during dark scenes that also covers the entire screen area with a similar intensity to the yellow tint.

Originally, I suspected the lamp when it was just a yellow tint, but now that I'm seeing the blue tint during the dark scenes, I'm leaning towards the light engine going bad. I've repaired several DLP and 3 LCD projectors in the past, but never a SXRD/LCOS. If this was a 3 LCD, the blue polarizing filter is the first thing I would look at. Is this the same with an SXRD projector or is there something else I should look at before moving to the light engine?

Thanks

I believe Curt Palme works on these. You might try www.curtpalme.com for contact details and advise.
