Local dealer here just got wind of a new SIM2 model their calling SUPER LUMIS. Apparently it's got some sort of new or modified Alpha light engine that can accommodate a high-wattage lamp with minimal sacrifice to contrast. Still has triple-flash 3D, 12bit processing, Dynamic Black, etc...but light output has been bumped up to 5000ANSI....same cabinet style as the SOLO. It also has lens indexing which, I believe, is new for them. The DCI version is called the SUPER LUMIS HC. Can't wait to see one of these in action.

This was actually announced back at CES in January. Supposed to be special order, and very expensive (one unverified number being thrown around after the announcement was $100K).

SUPER LUMIS is said to be $5k more than a SOLO...which would put it at around 60. And it's a regular line model, not special order.

Okay, then they changed the way they were going to market it originally. A couple of days before the official announcement at CES I was told these were coming but would be special order only. I later asked the person that processes orders in FL and she confirmed special order only, but had no pricing info at that time (a couple weeks after CES). I did not ask again, but obviously that changed. Glad to hear the price is more reasonable than what was being posted earlier on the forum.

The big one was a modified Christie, this sounds like a small unit?

The big unit is the 4K CinemaQuattro.

The Super Lumis is a 5000 lumens rated output projector in a Lumis chassis (i.e. small 18"x8"x18") and yes it's 5K more than the SOLO. It uses a 350W bulb and there are two versions available - a high brightness OR extended contrast.

The Fuoriserie is still in the catalog.

BTW all the SIM2s for 2013 have zoom memories, for some projectors this comes as standard for the lower priced ones it is an option.
