I first thought it was coming from the cable STB since many Comcast techs say they tell customers to use RGB video and digital audio out and NOT HDMI.

So I unplugged the cable box [CISCO RNG200] however while unplugged it still popped.

While watching movies last night, DVD and BluRay there were no pops for over 4 hours.

Watching cable TV and it is popping [very load] again about every 15-30 minutes.

This condition sometimes occurs on power on but it is a loud pop followed by a hum.

Is this the amp?

Suggestions?

Sounds more like a ground loop. I've never pooped my pants because of a loud sound, what was that like for you? smile.gif

Even your cable system? When did this start? All of a sudden? After you changed something in your setup?

Ugh, keep the pic, you sound like my dad.

I get loud pops on my TiVo whenever the audio switches from stereo to surround usually after a commercial on a sports show and some other cable shows. Not sure if its the tivos fault happens on a premiere and hd or my Nad receiver.
