Just got this in my dealer box today.

DP is proud to announce a trade-in program that delivers jaw-dropping color today, and advanced resolution in the near future!

The elite TITAN 1080p LED 3D, the world's ONLY 3-chip LED projector, is here and shipping. Additionally, our elite Ultra-HD projector is coming in 2014. If you value remarkable visual performance in your theater, but are pausing your high end projector purchase due to 4K interest, here is a great option.

How the 'LED to 4K' Program Works:

Once DP launches and begins shipping our first 4K (Ultra-HD) home cinema projector, TITAN LED projectors purchased during the first half of 2014 can be "traded in" toward a brand new 4K unit with exceptional trade-in value.

Purchase your new 4K unit within:

- 1-3 months of first DP shipments to receive a trade-in credit worth 80% of the original dealer price you paid for the TITAN LED projector and lens.

- 4-6 months of first DP shipments to receive a trade-in credit worth 75% of the original dealer price you paid for the TITAN LED projector and lens.

- 7-9 months of first DP shipments to receive a trade-in credit worth 70% of the original dealer price you paid for the TITAN LED projector and lens.

- 10-12 months of first DP shipments to receive a trade-in credit worth 65% of the original dealer price you paid for the TITAN LED projector and lens.

Cheers,
Scott

Scott, if SIM2 offers such, let me know!

It's back!! Wine of the Week! Clos Martinet Tinto, Priorat DOCa, Spain ~$60. If you've not had a good Priorat, you've not truly tried Spain's smallest, yet most unique terroir.

Will do. I haven't seen anything from them though, not since their huge Super Lumis sale back in Dec. If I had the place for one, I'd really like to try that 3 chip LED though. I brought in a Mico 150 and was disappointed. It wasn't anywhere near it's advertised output. Could have been a bad unit, and the place where it was eventually installed was ecstatic with it, but it wasn't bright enough for me. Once you've had 3-chip DLP, hard to live without that brightness. 3-chip LED DLP seems to be the best of both.

That Superlumis was a deal. However, for me, I'm updating audio this year and am simply watching video for the next great thing. Thanks!

Yes, that's the same with all the LEDs. The difference on this on is the colors are not modulated, with one light source "blinking" to let your eyes do the mixing. There's no color wheel but the single chip units still have sequential color I'm pretty sure. (correct me if I'm wrong) The 3 chip unit is able, same as a non LED unit to give all 3 color pieces at the same time. Reported to be beautiful projectors. I didn't get to go to CEDIA this year due to unchangeable conflicts, but my peers loved it. Personally, I'd probably want one of these over a basic 4k.

Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out GetGray. I thought my post above was clarifying things about the light source but in actuality didn't help at all. That's what I get not quoting enough of the product literature. tongue.gif

Single chippers use either full sequential RGB, or RGB with overlap, the latter provides greater brightness.

It's great to start seeing 4K DLP projectors coming - can't wait ! DPI's trade in program is a good deal too. I wish other manufacturers did the same.

It looked good at CES, screen size was comparable to yours also. You would be satisfied with it. That Titan chassis makes more noise than your current pj - just a heads up concerning your install.
