Found these pics of the system I did in 1993 and redid in 1999. Pharell bought it in 2007.
In addition to Torus cinema this is the most automated home I have ever done. Everything is automated including the curved front door. 2 years of bi weekly meetings plus oversight more like 3 years.

Cinema Phoebe with white acoustical pearwood, JBL Synthesis one, Barco 1200 replaced by g-90, mac amps and mac multiroom and crestron and lutron.

Naw this CRT PJ is old stuff. I am now into precompensated-aperture-rotation fixed lens dual 6P 4k laser in HFR cool.gif, and I am designing such beast for someone we all know and at 180k less than Christie's and without mirrors, with 20% more mtf.

The synchronous connection however, is that because of the despicable me soundtrack (which Pharrel mixed on Hans Zimmer's Questeds) I found Quested, the ideal solution for object based surround systems' transparency.

What's with most "home theater" seating? I thought "plush" "lazy-boy" seating never made it past the '80s.... eek.gif

Demand greater honesty and transparency in high-end audio

We custom built those first in 1989 for Titan with Christopher Hansen doing the Meyer sound. So it's a carry over from the 80's. They are very comfortable and the leather is top grade. These seats were delivered in 1993.I assure you that they do not look like lazy boys from the front. Just look at the architectural in the rest of the fkat and all I can say the seats are consistently classy.

Hmm, Christies was better you said following the recent public demo's, so what changed to get Barco back on top?

"Sometimes it's difficult to score enough parking spaces in urban condo buildings, but you won't have that problem if you buy Pharrell Williams' swanky penthouse for $10.9 million. He has seven assigned parking spaces, enough for an entire entourage.

As reported by Lucas Lechuga with Miami Condo Investments, the home has all kinds of lavish features: a private elevator straight to the top, 180-degree wraparound balcony and rooftop terraces with a pool and hot tub. The five-bedroom condo features more than 9,000-square-feet of living space and floor-to-ceiling glass walls.

Williams is a member of the Grammy Award-winning duo The Neptunes and has worked with Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Robin Thicke. You can hear him on Daft Punk's latest hit, "Get Lucky."

Here's your chance to get lucky, by saving 35 percent on a celebrity sky palace in Miami!"

Looks like he does not use the projector much, since the keyboard sticks up higher than the bottom edge of the screen. Fantastic looking place though.

Because of the original owner Ugo Colombo that I used to call him the King of Miami during Prometheus. but with style as hes a Milano-an and requested the European Aspect Ratio, so chances are the 16 x 9 clears it- That is what despicable me(s) are so it better fit.

Incidentally the Fantastic soundtrack in the FUN FUN FUN scene of Despicable me is what made me explore visiting the studios with the Questeds. Which led to the worl'ds first full blown 22.10 Trinnov Quested cinema.

You've come a long long way Synth.

Attended a Dinner during CES 91 in Chicago at Charley Trotters, Gina Hartman was at table away, snaps finger.

Speaking of original Synthesis one system this was number two, the first in East Coast. A TORTURE CHAMBER, by Comparison the contemporary Atlas

a VIP client loved the presentation but said it looked like a Polish Whore House.

The Mck speakers with the 1200 monoblocks, sounded incredible and since it was DPL the huge right lefts sounded great. The Barco HD projectors was one of three, i did the 4 meter wide projection at stereophile 94 where Runco visited 8 timeas and a month later got the idea to drop the soft looking Nec 7" with doublers for Barcos 9"s with Faroudjas as at the show were we bought a betacam machine and showed component video for the first time at any consumer electronics show. We had a c band recording of cleopatra in betacam that stole the show according to Tom Norton and JGordon Holt, Gary Reber was annoyed by my frequent interruptions on what was to be the very first ISF class.

It's amazing how things changed since the 80s and the 90s, now an Epson 6030 can give an awesome pic for just under 4k.

The NEC 1040 was shown ahead of Expo 2014/ShowEast, at a line shown in Manhattan, Matt's observations were just published, but his two parts are behind a pay-wall, so I haven't read them. Don't intend to bug him for it;-). http://www.display-central.com/subsc...ectors-part-2/

But ShowEast started as well, I see. So, have you been overthere, yet?

I attended the NEC Partners Showcase last week in Manhattan. Of note was the NC1040L that was on display. I could not see any speckle at all. Unfortunately it was showing 2K content not 4K content. The 1201QL on display was showing computer generated 4K content. So a side to side comparison could not be fairly made. In addition the 1040 was only 5000 lumen (1 laser module) vs 12,000 for tje 1201QL.

Of note the 1201QL is the exact duplicate of the Insight 4K laser down to the MSRP of $120,000.

I queried the staff of NEC, executives and Projector engineers in regard to any 4K LED projector currently in development, and they all said that there was nothing under development. So it appears the Insight 4K LED may use someone else's LED light engine.
