Sandy Gross's Triton One Flagship speaker

It's getting a lot of buzz. Some reviews state that it's a $20.000+ speaker for $2500. Has anyone here heard them?

Humm pass labs, Ocean Way dropped the cello derivatives for some passlabs when demoing me the 3rd ones down their line. seems like a good go to box.

The speakers sound like a breaktrough, thanks for the snippet.

Hey, if I can get sound quality equal to a Revel Salon at $2500, I'm thrilled!

Haven't heard the Ones, but I thought the Triton 2s were very good, but didn't live up to the hype for me. I'm biased toward electrostats though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Awesome speaker for $3k (the Twos); probably one of the better ones under $5k. But I don't get the giant-killer reviews placing it on par with $12k speakers. But definitely no slouch!

Great sound. Under priced at $5K for a pair.

Listened to them at CES. Impressive for the price.

However this is the $20k forum so you have to buy 8!

In one Golden Ear ad some reviewer compared them to $50,000 speakers. Take it w/a grain of salt. One usually gets what they pay for. My suggestion go out and audition. Listen to a top of the line Revel and compare it to a Triton. I would never buy a product based just on reviews. By the way I've heard these speakers and they are in a competitive price range w/lots of other well established speaker companies. The Tritons did not impress me as being miles ahead of these other brands in overall sound quality.

Heard the twos and thought they were nice speakers for the money. Never heard the ones but it looks like they just added more bass to the speaker. And I agree you get what you pay for. Last time I checked Sandy is in the business to make money. Not give you something for nothing!!

Why so touchy everyone?

These speakers sound great and are an excellent value.

Yes, they will run with the big dogs at a much lower cost. Are the better? I dare say not but close enough to make me scratch my head about saving thousands of dollars.

Spending in this hobby has never been linear so to speak when it comes to spending money.

That's not what I said. The Wilson Alexandria and the big MBLs do sound better but they are 150 grand.

For 5000 you would hard pressed to find better.

Better now...

That's how I felt about the Twos (I have not heard the Ones). Very very nice sounding speaker, especially for the money. It would be near or at the top of my short list if I were in the market in the $5k range. But, for my ears and musical tastes at least, I didn't get the comparisons to $20k speakers that the Twos elicited from so many others.
