Smile A display so lifelike it will rival any 1oo million dollar view !

Someone mentioned that the eye can tell the difference between a 55 at 5 feet from lcd and 5000 projection.

Actually the 65 oled has better colors but it is the equivalent of looking at a 16 foot wide cledis from 18 feet if you seat 73" close to the OLED. on a 77 is like 1 to 1 relationship and this is better image than the 5000 by a long shot. For a single seat i understand the drama of the theater and all the family get together memories. Im done with new theaters after loge elara naiad and the old moons rgb updates, those that cannot be converted to cledis that is.

Thanks to the person that challenged me, as i now can go sell these with 2 tiles w controller and sony 77 oled.

Post Reserved to explain Slap echo from surrounds hitting glass screen

This will require some serious thought as it will degrade the quality of the sound in the auditorium, rear surrounds will have to be lifted and reangled so that they hit the glass on a downward slant. This will eliminate the backmost atmos tops as the rear wall ceiling zone soundfield could conflate with the newly elevated surrounds.

Re recfording rooms should by suitably adapted as well at some future point in time.

This post is for my friends at Atmos.

Cool Horizontal Variant (X) Deployment

...This TORUS can work great with 3d remap, with the 9 foot tall cledis CL and CR can be added too for virtual SDDS. DUAL MONO CENTER.The vertical center of the LCR is only off by 8 inches or so. Easy fix.

Overloaded Images in a bove post. SINCE here is where the solution does lie I have added an extension.

Atlas,

aOn Prologic that tiny center channel was no match for the line arrays, i left the center off, sounded glorious, best sounding Torus room to date.

I will use alcons in the upcoming conceptauls L R line arrays over under partial array modules a la sdds.

This is how I know ARRAYS on the sides will totally KILL IT with CLEDIS. BTW first Barco 9"crt that later after measuring in My Home the weekend of the ISF formation Joel and Joe pushed Runco who went in 5 times to see my demo at Stereophile 94 (the home theater sensation of the Show-JGH). The lined was pulled from under me because of runco exclusive.Urghh.
Later Runco sold the company for 30 million thanks to me. All you guys had them Runcos I had ordered in 1992.

Cool Under screen soundbar like array

HERE IS A BIG ONE WITH SPEAKERS UNDERNEATH TOED UP.

Speakers under has been the only real problematic solution in some cases, best try to avoid unless at eye ear level.

Dan Marinos 1996 Confidence 3 rearpro setup has the speakers under but left right under the mC Racks due to academy aspect ratio. Sounded awesome

Pharrell's Jetson PH in Miami, synthesis one under the screen.

Hey if it is good enough to compose megahits like Happy on, ...

Inspiration For SONY HOUSE OF THE FUTURE in Paris 1991

My Coconut Grove Lab JBL synth one sounded awesome in that room.

Cant Believe I lost this original awesome Charles Harrison Pawley (rip) house overlooking biscayne bay with rearpro, great sounding due to acoustical ceiling.

SONY SAID THERE WOULD BE ECONOMIES OF SCALE FOR CINEMA. don't know if present or projected but I was told that the screen that size was under 150k. It's a steal. The glass does not reflect. Theoretically the pixar guys told me that they could max out hdr to 21f-stops with trillions of calculations per second. The maximum viable for cinematic live action HDR with todays high end cameras is 16 f-stops, CLEDIS handles it all with finesse.

I have pictures of the modules and will post dimensions necessary for 4k/1080p. One could start small and then quadruple i guess. In my case at least.

I dont know about the CLEDIS exactly, but as a comparison, DPI just released their Radiance Tiles.

A 4K setup would be a 20' wide 16:9 screen with their 1.58mm pixel pitch panels. The system cost $543,000.00

That system price includes 100 panels which makes up 4K.

Each panel is 23.94" x 13.46" with a resolution of 384x216. A 10x10 matrix of 100 panels gives the 3840x2160 resolution.

Each panel cost $5000.00. So $5,000.00 x 100 = $500,000.00 for the LED Tiles.

The additional $43,000.00 is for the controllers and mounting frame.

Their system is front serviceable and 1000nit brightness.

Samsung went from 3,500 to a three digits number per foot at cinemacon i believe theirs is bigger though, more than one theater chain bought in. the sony is 9x16 feet wide for 4k but it has only 4 x dvi, no kelidescape thats for sure. They need to add hdmi.

For the cinema it would be sweet if they just have an IMS that way you can even hookup the Dolby IMS with all digtal 34 channel atmos and dolby vision (my speculation that will happen as i am proposing right now to Andrew and Pat in the vp office.

Isn't my concept more luxurious and cool than what's going to a cinema to get the retinas pierced?

In any event this is the entry level folks, count the chairs in the front row that is 2 feet each that is what the samsung needs to do 4k 4 times the sony that is why its in theupper mid 3 digits per sq. foot. I am waiting to the closer to OLED looking CLEDIS with HDMI.

Above real image, looks like a best buy LCD, below...??? As a photoshop expert witness....

You will see these samsung cinemas popping up BY XMAS 2017. Yup.

That worries me that there is a bigger gap than CLEDIS Hairline fracture look.

again the cledis in 4k is 9 by 16 feet, kind of a nice touch.Easy to do dual mono audio from the side if using alcons due to extreme phantom imaging potential.

Talking Friends In High Places.....

Bryan , Adam had I known that Andrew was to become the CINEMA BOSS, i might have worded that: "What the Hell Where You Guys Thinking Of when You Left Out the widths out of DSU?" slightly different.

That was funny right guys.? I did give him great praise for 10 uninterrupted minutes leading to that part.

Another inside joke with Andrew, during the praising part (right guys?) i told him that other people at dolby cinema were suits that he was a true enthusiasts. He responded: "An Enthusiast Suit."

This guys will help the PROSUMER Home Cinema in ways few of you now can envision. DOLBY CINEMA FOR MICROPLF (projection or Micro Led), watch, you heard it from me first!!! I predict. You know my crystal ball.

CONGRATS ANDREW; Living proof that we are living in a new MERITOCRACY!!!!

Cool No More NEW Projection Moons for me.... just the existing here in progress &w updates

I'm going to get on the ground floor of this and seize and opportunity NOW while the price is 750k for a 16x9 4k screen. Will be focusing my efforts strictly on the cledis and a design collaboration with dynaudio, but i have scheduled meeting with the top design tower developers in Miami, and have tremendous incentive for the owners to recommend I sell 6 of these in their buildings... I leave the smarties here to figure out what the compelling enticement is.

WISH ME WELL YALL.

Cool

yup.

My Fourth of July foray in CLEDIS Grid analysis.

72" by 128" is not a bad size to aim for. But technically you can start with 2 panels and controller.

The practical minimum that would still look great is 2 x 4 panels is 74" diagonal, just increase your lego count a few blocks at a time.

Sure thing, IF YOU CLONE YOURSELF and CRYO for 50 years.

You are making a big to do about nothing. Think remodelling your bat cave, knock a big window on the side. Rip out so much unneeded absorption, think rt300/400. Change your speakers to dynaudio.

Use this center channel below screen. Or three if you have lc rc as well. Ncore amps and Call it a day.

While the cabinet base features a mechanism that allows the angle of dispersion to be focused upwards or downwards to optimize such with regards to positioning the speaker below or above the video screen. The acoustic phase is further adjusted by a toggle switch to optimize the height of the soundstage in these same positioning scenarios.

Personally now that we have atmos, I prefer the speakers to image at chin level instead of ear level or up to 30 cm above. One row of 3 or 4 dont worry about the rest. SELFISHNESS gets you MORE IMMERSION. without any doubt.

If You are real selfish and only have one seat you don't need a center.

Speaking of awesome chin level imaging speakers i would not mind being surrounded in 9.1.8 with arrayed sides so 10 of these for a single seat selfish SONY DYNAUDIO STRATO system, with 4 playstation 4's in quad as well...

I don't see why. What is the big technological challenge here? The Sony tiles look like computers of the 50s. It won't take 50 years to get the laptop versions of today that perform far better for far less money.

I haven't seen any acoustically transparent laptops yet either!

So why Dynaudio, and not Quested or Alcons?

Penthouse open spaces require a loudspeaker designed to sound excellent in those tough environments with minimal room tretment. They are very well integrated top to bottom, without any dsp,. So simplicity in achieving a good result. I also have found out that when you have 10 of these columns sharing the load specially with mild atmos or dts-x compression that it is extremely enveloping and natural. 7.1 former systems specially in treated room did stress out a bit, not now with a bed of 8 the lr load gets shared with the width and the surrounds don't pop as they did before. But the system maxes out at 105 db, a very neighborly thing in buildings like this ( ashoe in for my latest concept or what?")).

So Par for the course.

Cinemas I still use the q and a, but i think i always liked the idea of cinema with a view. And with this dynaudio system here, and a couple of tiles and a 77 oled. I'm ready.
