CEDIA Surprise

There is something big brewing for release at CEDIA. I cannot divulge details now and I won't oversell what is coming but I am certain that everyone who is invited to the premiere will be duly impressed. I am not sure everyone will think it is revolutionary. What I can say is that is has been in the works for well over a year and when it it revealed it will surprise a great many people. You should see press soon. Once it breaks I will be happy to share what I know.

It takes a lot to get people in the industry excited and everyone I know in the industry that knows about it is pretty jazzed.

I know it sounds great and looks great.....but can we communicate with it? If not it is useless:)

Must be the ................

New Highlite 4K UHD projector from DPI 12500 Lumen output.

and,

BTW when combined with Stewarts new woven screen material; it will blow people away.

We got our hands on the new beast prior to Cedia for a private demo and all I can is look out Sony.

No more creamy plastic looking 4K images.

Here is a A B comparison between a Stewart Studio Tek and a small overlay-ed sample of Stewart's new woven screen material.

This may even make Art happy finally

BTW taken with a iPhone 7 so for the critics, the images are 2-3 times better then they appear .

This projector is a must see at Cedia.

So, zero sparklies?

But wouldn't the woven screen gain be around .8 or something?

How large was the demo screen?

Thanks

How large was the demo screen? Material was 4' x 4' and mount just in front of our 14' studio TEK

So what you are seeing is the image on the woven section just in front of the larger screen.

Thanks

Gain is .8

No sparkles ZERO

No time to dial things in and check . Unit goes back on the road Monday.

at this point images provide better understanding of what this thing can do.

We using 40% power level.

Working on some HDR numbers with Lumagen.

It will be at Cedia and I definitely recommend people stop and see it; especially if they don't want to pay what it cost to buy a Sony 5000

MSRP I believe will be round $ 50,000.00 with a lens.

sorry but doesn't approach the look of a quality flatscreen.

I have seen true hdr projection, actually discovered by accident updating a super high contrast barco dci. That is on a Torus, the only better image i have seen in hdr was on the reald screen demo. The realD People are coming to cedia to see the state of dismay. Hopefully they will have a sample and we can test Jeff.

Hmmm...it's the Tela 80 material with a tighter weave. The T80 sample I have does have a clean, sharp picture if not for the weave being visible at my shorter viewing distance.

Bet I have more customers who will be willing to pay $50000 for 90% of what $ 200000 K will provide.

We have a LG 65 E6 here and have done some comparisons and you are right. But I am to old to wait for prices to come down.

We are finding out HDR is a total crap shot as far as what the movie industry is putting out.

If DPI shows up with this unit and use the Stewart woven screen, there is going to be grown men crying in San Diego.

Really, its still on 2000:1, this is not a home theater projector. IMHO DPI left the home theater business a while ago, they have the Insight 4K yet had no interest in a reference model, ie contrast mod.

For a complete 4K solution under 50K this appears to be the best solution out there as of toady.

That is my opinion and all I am saying people need to check it out and make their own decision.

I for on would like to see if someone could hot rod this bad boy to increase the contrast.

It certainly has the horsepower to accommodate it.

Barco Balder would be under 50k and is extremely good.

CEDIA Surprise

Barco LOKI, BALDERS dual laser big brother, will be used on a 15 1/2 feet wide motorised masked UltraWeave v6 AT at CEDIA at the Alcons Pro Ribbon Experience setup, looking forward to see how it will turn out.

As for the new Stewart weave; finally a manufacturer that provides accurate gain values! I'm sure this fabric will be a very worthy contender...

I will be checking out all 3 AT weaves at Cedia, at this point in time aside from loss of light (.8 gain) are any of these 3 screens (Stewart, DT, and V6) close to the resolution and sharpness of a solid Stewart 100 screen?
