CEDIA 2017: Quick List of each room we should see

Everyone, please in as very few words as possible just tell us which room we should make time to see and what will be in the room. Then I will list each room by editing this post to include them all here in one post in one easy to find place so folks do not have to pour through various threads. Folks, if you know that a company will be off site from the San Diego Convention Center, please advise and give the info if you can. Thanks.

AVS PM Mr. Integration for an invitation and if he agrees he'll ask for your email to give you a to be a surprise top line home theater "system" demo! Three top companies are getting together for a super super super duper demo! Its the Dynaudio Super Master System, with Datasat SSP!

JBL - need I say more for always one of the very top demos!

Wisdom Audio - need I say more for always one of the very top demos!

Sim2 - surely another great projector demo! WOOPS! As of 8-25-2017, they are not listed as a CEDIA exhibitor. Lets hope Sim2 is part of some other wild demo!

JVC - what new projector will they demo?

DPI - what new projector will they demo?

Epson - what new projector will they demo?

Alcons Audio - will be using the crms fronts this year so no bleeding ears this time, they will be introducing a new ribbon / lens something or other for atmos tops wider dispersion. With trinov 32.

Meridian Audio - CEDIA attendees can experience Meridian quality in a dedicated sound room at the show. Created in partnership with Barco Residential, this exclusive space will create an immersive home theatre experience, thanks to Meridian’s new 271 Digital Theatre Controller, Barco’s highly acclaimed Loki 4K DLP laser home cinema projector and a Contempo micro frame screen from DT Screens. Alongside Meridian’s own audio systems, DT Screens are now fully integrated into Meridian’s complimentary Design and Specification Service with Barco’s projectors and Cinema–ATS’ acoustic treatment solutions, to provide installers with a complete audio-visual scheme from the one company. The 271 allows technology integrators to provide the best immersive, hi-res audio for home theatre, with the ability to integrate any analogue or digital AV processor or receiver with Meridian’s DSP loudspeakers. It’s the perfect option for Atmos, Auro and DTS-X 3D systems, offering 16 unbalanced inputs, 16 balanced inputs and the option of 16 digital inputs.

Barco - will not be showing the big lasers at the Meridian booth. So Barco is tweaking (quite possibly with a special spectrum radiometer Cinamerax sent them for Use) the new compact blu laser line.Meridian’s high quality audio will provide the soundtrack for several other booths including Barco Residential, where visitors will be able to experience a range of Meridian loudspeakers driven by the 218 Zone Controller.

Kaleidescape - will announce 2 or three more hdr studios. The kaleidescape strato is the very best clocked and sounding UHD Playback device, the picture quality has much better color resolution and exhibits a solidity only seen in DCI files. It is the uhd bd player terminator machine. Cinamerax am down to 6 discs from 50 in anticipation.

Sony- may be doing CLEDIS. A gargantuan oled like image. 16 foot wide. Sony is hosting a special AVS Forum meetup on Saturday, September 9, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. We will gather in Room 5B on the upper level of the San Diego Convention Center, two levels above the exhibit hall. During the meetup, Sony will share two important presentations. The first will be a close look at projector-based high dynamic range (HDR) imaging, including the challenges unique to projectors, system setup, and projector adjustments for best results. Then, we’ll take a look at HDR-capable projectors from several companies in a side-by-side comparison. Next, we’ll have the opportunity to see HDR-capable flat-panel TVs from several companies in their own side-by-side comparison. Unlike most such demos, the TVs will be fully calibrated, and we’ll compare that with their out-of-the-box default performance. The discussion will also include differences in HDR tone mapping and the importance of video processing. If you can make it to this AVS Forum-exclusive meetup, please post a comment in CEDIA Dinner & Special Event thread so Cineramax some idea of how many people to expect.

Yamaha

Samsung - flat panels

LG - flat panels

Year in and year out, JBL and Wisdom are the top demos to visit.

It should be pretty easy to go through all of the video demos.
-JVC
-Sony
-Epson
-DPI
-Barco
-Sim
-probably a couple of flat panels as well.

I am sure there will be a surprise on the audio side. I want to see the new Yamaha speakers, if they are there.

You can change Secret demo room to Dynaudio/Datasat and Friends. It is by invite only. The Dynaudio Cinema Master System will premier.

I know it sounds great and looks great.....but can we communicate with it? If not it is useless:)

Hey Dan Marino's TELESTO system in 1996 was the very first dynaudio 7.1 system, where's my invite? Esotar i expect, how are they hitting ref plus 6? They are i hope, that would mean adios ribbons....

The coherency of the esotar dynaudios with the mid and the 8 inch woofers is something i have never heard from any other loudspeakers. I want to bring my reference playlist in a thumbdrive.

Very excited about this, next the 10-12 inch tops that are de rigueur for selfish bastardness.

Here is a possible projector place holder.... might be able to do hdr?

Ranked number one in the LED projector category for six consecutive years, LG Electronics (LG) is set to extend its lead in the category with the unveiling of two new projectors at IFA, Europe’s largest consumer electronics and home appliance show. In Berlin, LG will be introducing its ProBeam UST (Ultra Short-Throw) laser projector (model HF85JA) and LG MiniBeam (model PH30JG) as part of its strategy to extend its leadership in the LED/Laser projector market which is projected to grow to USD 5.7 billion in three years.

LG ProBeam ProjectorThe LG ProBeam UST offers a Full HD (1080p) image in a ultra-short throw design for an immersive home cinema experience without the hassles associated with most home projectors. Ultra Short-Throw projectors are convenient as they do not require professional installation, a jumble of unsightly cables or expansive space between the projector and the screen, the ProBeam UST only requiring 12cm to display a 100-inch image. And the ProBeam UST is intuitive to use because it does not require its own stand – simply place it on any existing furniture and it becomes movie night. And never again cast a shadow on the screen when getting up for more popcorn.

Consumers who have doubts about the effectiveness of projectors in brightly lit rooms can put them to rest because the LG ProBeam UST generates up to 1,500 ANSI lumen of brightness, 1.5 times brighter than LG’s previous UST projector. And the ProBeam UST’s 150,000:1 contrast ratio ensures that every TV show or movie will look crisp and accurate. What’s more, the light source in the ProBeam UST is incredibly durable, estimated to last up to 20,000 hours. Its innovative I-shaped laser engine gives it a slim and sleek profile that looks great in any room.

The LG ProBeam UST offers a host of options to connect it to a number of wireless speakers or headphones. Its four corner keystone feature corrects both horizontal and vertical distortion of the picture providing maximum flexibility to position the ProBeam UST in ways that other projectors could only dream of. And this premium device comes with LG’s award-winning webOS Smart TV platform, giving viewers access to the ever-growing number of streaming services.

The LG MiniBeam is an incredibly easy to use portable projector also set to debut at IFA 2017. An HD projector with a built-in battery that lasts up to four hours, the MiniBeam packs plenty of cord-free power to play back two full-length movies while camping, sitting on the patio or relaxing in a hotel room. One of its most impressive features, Multi-Angle Projection, allows the device to be tilted up to 70 degrees to display an image high on a wall or even on the ceiling without the use of a tripod.

The LG MiniBeam projector offers users unprecedented freedom in a portable package. USB Type-C compatibility gives the MiniBeam the ability to connect and mirror other devices such as laptops and smartphone and charge its internal 9000mAh battery with a single cable. The MiniBeam can send an audio signal to any other Bluetooth-enabled device – wireless speaker, smartphone even a car audio system.

“We are immensely proud of our long-standing position as the global leader in portable LED projectors,” said Jang Ik-hwan, head of the IT business division at LG Electronics. “The projectors that we’ll be debuting at IFA will provide consumers with an immersive, high-quality home cinema experience that’s extremely convenient, reliable and fun.”

Visitors to the LG’s booth in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin from September 1-6 will have a chance to experience LG’s newest lineup of projectors first-hand.

You know these are probably 1000 lumens only. And you are no longer offended by blue lights Peter, lol.

Good review as always by Gregory (Kraine on AVS), only 1083 lumens max. Colorimetry is fairly good.

https://i0.wp.com/www.projection-hom...80JS.jpg?w=614

http://www.projection-homecinema.fr/...inema-full-hd/

The UST version of the LEDs offered even less thatn the regular LEDs, so I presume this carries over to the laser unit.

Coretronic showed a P3 filtered MCLA engine UST projector, claimed output 4000 lumens. Costs several times more. that the LG 80s €1599 (USt price announced at IFA, I presume.

Just to clarify, I have another engagement booked for Thursday evening so I won't be able to join you guys for dinner on that evening (only) unfortunately, but I can do the whole of Thursday daytime from first thing in the morning, including lunch, plus Friday dinner if you are doing it. Sorry about this, but the thing on Thursday evening has been booked for many months. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. It's going to be a blast!

Hey Peter. I'm coming in Thursday morning. At the convention center by lunch. I know Ash is coming as well.

Maybe start a new dinner thread?

Goodbye to a great audio and video genius and writer... JOHN GANNON. I enjoyed your friendship, wit and a nice long run we took around Indianapolis at CEDIA years back... and for buying my Runco 980 Ultra years back... you saved my ass! Rest in peace.

Hi Guys!

I'm in Thursday morning about the same time as Jeff. I don't know San Diego like Dallas, but I'll see what I can find out. I know there are some very good restaurants in the 'Gaslamp Quarter', walking distance from the convention center. Looking forward to it!

Thanks,
Ted.

I know little about San Diego but I found, what appears to be a great place for seafood, near the convention center... Water Grill. I made a res for four at 8:15 but can add many as it appears it is still early to book. Open to other suggestions as well.

It'll be me and my wife (so far)

'Searsucker' is another, 5-minute walk up 5th from the convention center, supposed to be excellent.

Send a message via Skype™ to CINERAMAX
Ill start a thread.

We should make it an awards selection dinner for individual qualities of an immersive presentation rather than a best one.

Meridian Audio

Barco - will not be showing the big lasers at the Meridian booth. So tBarco is tweaking (quite possibly with a special spectrum radiometer Cinamerax sent them for Uwe) the new compact blu laser line.

16 foot wide

Yamaha

Samsung - flat panels

LG - flat panels
Sim2 isn't listed ( I just created my show planner ), so it doesn't look like they will be there.
