@Yannick

Hi Yannick,
I wonder if it would be possible that -20th Fox-, or other studios you deal with directly, would provide you with the german audio tracks for your BluRay authoring. At the moment I use US DVD´s and sync it with my german Blu-Rays. This works pretty well for me, but sometimes It is a little bit frustrating.
Most of the english tracks on our german BluRays syncs with D-Box, but of course not the german one.

Best regards from Germany !

Christoph

"Shoot Em Up" just downloaded....

Question regarding these titles on Blu Ray and whether codes are coming soon:

1) War

2) I am Legend (coming out very soon)

3) oops, 3:10 to Yuma... Looking forward to this ASAP.

4) Micheal Clayton

5) In the Valley of Elah

6) Saw 4

It's part of the discussion. Don't know yet which language we will be able to have but I would assume german being one of them. I'll keep you posted...

I just watched Michael Clayton, and won't post any spoilers, but I don't think it would really benefit from codes.

I really like D-Box codes, even for movies that are not heavy on action... because that means those few scenes that have something going on, really stand out...

This is tougher as it includes products from 2 manufacturers. It is a little harder to find, but it's worth it! When you'll get your seat this will all be history.

I'm a UK enthusiast who's seriously considering taking the plunge into the D-Box world, and have 1001 questions, but for now, one of my issues is whether I go with a UK blu-ray player or a US version.

Will I be better off importing a region A m/c, on the basis that the majority of motion coding has been done on the US disks, or will a region B m/c using region B disks be fully compatible with the system/motion coding?

Also, for the Fox disks which presumably now have the code embedded at source, is this for all regions or only region A?

Any other hints/tips, etc for a novice would be gratefully received...

The best would be for you to get a UK BD player and get the movies in region 1. We do resync Region 2 movies (because it's PAL vs NTSC) but our librairy is always behing. We have over 700 titles in Region 1 and about 450 in Region 2. Same thing for the Bluray movies, althought a lot of them are region free at the moment. The deal with Fox and Disney were for Region A BD, but we are discussing about other country and UK comes in the top ones. So in order to avoid any of that if you get a US version you will have one less thing to worry about!

Any other hints I can provide let me know...

Why haven't the codes for Shoot em Up come out for BD, since the DVD codes came out a week ago?

Yannick- I thought that the bluray coded disks were locking on to a hard coded DD bitstream output over spdif. If so, Aren't these bluray disks using the same DD bitstream as their dvd counterparts? And even i not, aren't the motion codes goig to be the same for the dvd and the blurays anyway?

I mean, won't dvd motion codes work on bluray disks?

Nothing is hard coded yet! and we only wish the DD bitstream was the same for BD to DVD but unfortunately not, we have to resync all of them, each language seperatly. It's basically two different signature...

After Fox, Lionsgate, Disney Studio, SONY will now embed D-BOX Motion Code on the 6th Day Blu-ray schedule for April 8th.

"Sony Adds D-Box Support

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed the specs for the upcoming Blu-ray release of the Arnold Schwarzenegger film 'The 6th Day', and a surprise addition will be support for D-Box home theater seating. Joining other film studios who include the motion software on their Blu-ray releases, Sony is the latest to provide support for the unique home theater experience. "

I've attached a copy of the cover art of the movie.
