That was supposed to be joke “I don’t put a lot of stock in it” meaning I don’t care or can’t be asked to do it. It’s private joke between my friends.

Perhaps we should rate home theaters using a sense/dollar ratio. That one would rate _very_ low, as would the earlier Star Trek themed theatre. The ST-themed one, however, also likely rates very low on a performance/dollar scale.

There will be a press release in the autumn of a large screening room facility in the Pacific Design Center in Hollywood which is one of Theo's nicer looking contemporary designs, the sound system is Steinway.

Peter,
Have you had a chance to audition other brands like Wisdom Audio, Meyer Sound, Genelec as opposed to Steinway Lyngdorf? I am not saying or claiming one is better than the other but merely asking if you have had the chance to hear the other brands. Thanks.

Actually yes I have. Wilson is not a home theater speaker afaik due to the rear shooting tweeter and away from the walls positioning the speakers have got to go against the wall to be ht, Genelec is among the best I have heard (if mike chafee sets it up). Meyer refuses to enter the ht market this year (but they have the dsp and speaker technology to rule from their demonstration at infocomm).

Thanks for the response .... I think you misread "Wisdom Audio" and mentioned Wilson Audio in your response.

I live in the W. Los Angeles area. Is there a way I could see this design and sound system?

It has not been fully commissioned yet but try contacting audio video interiors and ask about the Silver Screen.

I've read a bit about Steinway... what is the story on it?

My Home Theater of the Month- Le Petit Trianon

There are more than a handful of [op amps] that sound so good that most designers want to be using them as opposed to discreet transistors. Dave Reich, Theta 2009
