I am slowly upgrading my HT system from an Onkyo HTiB. First I bought an Onkyo 805, then an SVS PB12-NSD. Next up are front channels. I am planning on spending in the range of $1000 for new fronts, but that won't be for a few more months.
Amazon has the Polk Monitor 50's for 100 bucks a piece. That's cheap enough that I'm thinking about buying them now until I can afford something better (yes, I have a problem with delayed gratification). My question is, would the Polk's be a worthwhile upgrade from my Onkyo speakers (from the HT-S770 HTib)? I don't mind spending the money on them, as I can always use them elsewhere once I buy something new. I just would like to know if it is going to be a noticeable difference.
I am going to go audition them in the next few days, I just wanted to hear from opinions from you fine people. Thanks.
