Hi

I have Mirage OM-9s with Boston Acoustics VRC as center, omnisat V2 as rear, energy S10.3 as sub. Naturally, I am looking for a matching center ( OM-C2 or OM-C3). The other option is to replace the whole line with PSBs ( Image T45,C40 & subsonic 6i). I'll keep the omnisats as rear

I am not sure whether the PSB option will be an upgrade or downgrade. I love the sound of OM-9s ( I think the PSBs will be a little crisper but not as smooth), but not the new mirage series ( Omnisat V2 FS & all). Also, I never had a chance to listen to matched Mirage fronts.

My usage is 60% HT, 40% music

Have anybody compared these two sets of speakers?

Thanks

JMB

I would email mirage and see what they say. What I would do see if I can demo some speakers in your home to see what you like in you room.Look at other speakers to for you mite find one that you like more then them. And good luck hope you find one that you like.

Thx for the response. I did email mirage However, as per them, the closest option is to use OMD-C1 which is out of my budget

What I am looking for is if I replace my mirage setup, what is the range/speakers of speakers I should look at ( in the usual list of suspects like PSB/swan/axiom/rocket etc)?

OM-C2's show up on Audiogon fairly regularly and a used one in good condition is half the price of a new OMD-C1. If you buy one and don't like it you can turn it around and sell it for what you bought it for, there always seems to be a demand for that center. If you're going to bit the bullet and replace everything my suggestions would be to look at the Paradigm Reference series, KEF Xq's, or the Rockets. I've been a Mirage fan for a long time and those are the other brands I find most pleasing aside from Mirage. Not a real fan of Axiom's, too harsh, and I've never had the chance to properly audition PSB's.

Thanks. Yes, the mirage sounds very pleasant - not a measurable quality ( like flat FR etc). I will be looking out for an OM-C2 for sure

Update : Got one OM-C2 . Now I know pretty well what's the difference between a boston VRC & OM-C2. Thanks Sean & John

My next target - PSB subsonic 6i or HSU VTF3 ( replacing my energy s10.3)
