I am trying to set up a second speaker zone, non-amplfied. I have the speakers connected to the backsurround/multizone speaker output. Zone 2 is designated as source. So far no sound to these speakers. I must be missing something. Any suggestions?

I had so many problems setting this up on my 3805 as well. While I dont remember exactly how I did it, I think it had something to do with the amp assign function and making sure the volume is turned up on the second zone. It was definitely not straight forward.

On page 45-46 make sure your volume setting in that specific zone 2 or 3 are set to variable and not fixed at -40dbs where no adjustments can be made. I don't use the second zone feature with mine so I'm not a great help but it appears to be a setting issues.

Good luck, Bill

Just in case you don't have the manual. http://www.usa.denon.com/AVR3805_DFU_ownersmanual.pdf

Thanks Billy P. I verified that the volume is set to variable. Still no sound.

Next dumb question
Have you assigned a source for that zone in the option menu(ie: tunner,cd player, dvd etc). You might want to try that and if you still have no sound you should pose your question in the amp section of the forum. Otherwise...
Good luck

Not a dumb questions with this unit, but yes I did assign a source. I'll take your suggestion and post to the amp sections. Thanks again.
