I really love the setup.

I ordered another set of the bipole surrounds for the left and right back surrounds since they are on sale now. The picture in my profile is of my upstairs setup that has the e55ti.s with e56i center. The surrounds are omnistats. In my game room I have the e55wi surrounds with the same front stage but different subs.

Let me know if you are ever around South Hills Village, you can drop by to take a look/listen.

Although not as important with surrounds,
I would still get the emp e55wi's so everything has matched drivers.

Anyone planning to pair e55ti with onkyo tx-nr818? Can these be driven by the receiver without amps?

These are very easy to drive speakers. You should have no problem.

I think the E5Bi are better rear speakers. The w's were made to be placed on the side walls. This according to one of the advisors I spoke with before purchasing. I have W's on the sides and B's in the back. It's a nice setup.

Just picked up:

e55ti's
e56ci
e5bi's

Looks like they're not shipping until the 2nd week of December, but I'll try to write up a nice review of them. Looking forward to hearing them as all the reviews have been extremely positive, especially for the price! Looks alone are amazing, but comments like "hitting the midrange spot on" or "nailed the midrange and upper end", etc make me wonder if these are too good to be true! I'll easily be able to compare them to my Energy C-500's, along with many other drivers I've heard. Haven't heard many home setups, but I'd like to think I've got a good ear for most instruments and how they need to be reproduced.

Who all took advantage of this offer?? Hopefully everyone can come back and give their opinions and a few pics

Question about the E56Ci. I read a few reviews that mention they were glad EmpTek made this Center Channel, as the E5Ci was underpowered when working with the E55ti towers. Unfortunately I can't fit a 31" wide center in my entertainment center.

I did also. My current set-up consist of Polk Monitors(M70, M30's & CS2) & an Onkyo 3009. Hopefully they live up to what I've come to expect. I also purchased an Outlaw LFM-1 Plus to replace or use with my PA-120.
I've been eyeing this set-up for a while. After I have set everything up. I'll be deleting AVS from my Bookmarks. This site has cost me too much time & money.smile.gif Who am I kidding.

I have been eyeing the EMP's for a while, and when I saw this sale grabbed a pair of the E55Ti's to replace my old Infinity towers. I have seen nothing but good feedback about these, I think we got a great deal!

I think so also. I've seen quite a few people pick other towers that are slightly higher priced just based on MSRP alone. I've had a few people tell me the Focal 814v would be better than the E55ti, but both have never heard the e55ti...and possibly either one! Judging from the one review on here (MrEastSide) that had both, he said the e55ti did everything just as good as the Focal 814v. The 5.0 for Focal is $1300+, whereas the EMP set it $890. Quite a savings for most budget minded enthusiast. That money can be put towards a nice sub or a nicer AVR if needed.

Yea lots of people compare them to more expensive speakers, but that seems to be the case with most I.D. companies. And getting the towers for $477 shipped is icing on the cake!

At loud volumes this is probably the case at lower/normal listening it does a decent job.

I have two of the smaller centers left over that I replaced with the e56i's that I am going to use as the rear channels of a 7.6 setup. I am going to stand them vertically. I think I am going to use the bookshelf speakers as heights.

I have the smaller center and don't notice any problem with it underperforming! (of course I have the smaller towers as well)

Hey everybody, this is my first post on avs.
This is also my first upgrade to a more avs standard HT setup. I just got the 65gt50, onkyo nr818, and the e55ti's. I'm looking for a good sub for these speakers. Would the ES1010i be good whenever it goes on sale at $350, or is the Klipsch SW-308 for $330 right now a better choice. I'm looking for one at around that price.
Any other suggestions are welcome.
Also since this is my first setup, I'm not sure what wires I would need to connect this speakers and, later on, sub. Would I just need speaker wire? and for the sub?
Also right now I'm at about 40% movies, 40% music, and 20% gaming.

Thanks for your input.

Also it's in an open living room. About 20x25 ft.

Many people will write off the EMP Tek, simply because they think they're cheap, based on the MSRP, but MSRP means nothing, 99% of the time, especially in regards to things like speakers.

Of course, I got it modified with the TK-427, which cheeks it up another, maybe, 3 or 4 quads per channel.

I've got 3 of the EW30 speakers, had them for a little over a year, and they are great speakers. When I go to a 9. system, I would love to get a set of 25's for the wides, as I think they'd make such a great addition. When I finally make a dedicate HT, I'll be buying all my speakers from them, that's for sure.

How do the Energy ESW-M8 or MartinLogan Dynamo 300 compare to it.

I have the ML Dynamo 300 and I can tell you...it it s decent sub, especially for the 100 dollars I paid for it. However, it won't hold a candle to the Epik or even the EMP subs!
I am using two cheap 8 inch subs now with my EMP front stage and the subs are definately the weak link in my system!

I wouldn't trust epik... known to have many amp issues. You should read up threads on this http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=82568&page=9

I have read about their issues, but at what rate is that 1 every 50, 100, 200. Who knows how many they've sold.

How often does EMP run sales on those towers? Doesn't really matter right now because they are out of stock on the red E55ti. The black friday price was amazing, and I'm disappointed I only found out about this brand this week.
