It's a 5 driver center/mini tower basically. Not to mention it's got a cabinet and finish that shouldn't be anywhere remotely close to this price. I would jump on it now and not look back

I just can't stand listening to the TV speakers, especially after having 7.1 for so long now.
I like the look of the towers and they seem to be more stable then speaker stands. I have a Doberman and a English bulldog, not saying they run into my stuff but they do run through the house so they need to be sturdy.
So you need speakers just to watch tv and possibly a little music?

Two years ago, I bought a Sony 3D TV bundle that included a BDV-E580 bluray home theater receiver system . I thought the sound was adequate for my need but I didn't like the look of the small satellite speakers so I looked for some cheap tower speakers online. I got lucky and found a local guy last year who sold me a pair of E55Ti for $200. The E55Ti sounded great but created a mismatch with the satellite speakers, especially the center channel. I wanted to get the E56Ci center speaker and ES1010i sub but they were too expensive for me at regular price so I thought I'd wait for this year's Black Friday sale.
I was disappointed that there wasn't as big a discount on the center speaker but almost pulled the trigger on the center and sub anyways for $564 until I saw someone local who was trying to sell his home theater setup. The setup consist of an EMP E56Ci center, a ES1010i sub, a pair of E55Wi surround, a pair of E5Ti towers ( i don't really need), and a Pioneer SC-1222-K receiver(would be a big upgrade but i don't think I really need it.) I might be able to get it for around $700-800.
What do you guys think? Stick with the original plan and get the center and sub from EMP or go for the used setup?
Like I told blamekilly, it's a monster of a center, with 5 good drivers and a really nice cabinet. It's incredible that they're even at the price they are regularly, not to mention their BF sale prices. But when you have trickle down tech, drivers, cabinets from your mother company it's a little easier to still make a profit I'd assume. You picked up the e55's for next to nothing so you're still going to be WAAY ahead if you paid the BF price for the center.
Also, if you can get that setup for $700 then I would go for it.....only if you need it though. What size is the room you'll be listening in? Mainly movies, music or both? You could probably sell that sc1222k for half of what you paid for everything else pretty quickly.

I know..I'm really thinking about it. Honestly, there are times when I just want to buy a pair of LFM-1ex's, xs15's, pb12's, etc.....but then I realize that I really don't listen THAT much or watch that many movies quite yet. With a 4 month old it's hard to get a lot of free time, and when you do you're trying to be somewhat quiet lol. Once she's a little bigger and wants to watch movies or listen to some tunes with daddy then I'm thinking I'll go and buy some better, more powerful subs. As much as I'd like to grab a pair of nice, ID subs......I just don't think I'd use them enough to warrant them being more than double what I've already spent or would spend on the e1010i's ya know.
I found some SPL numbers for the e1010i on Audioholics. I wonder how it compares to the rw-12d. Might have to do some measurements today on mine
