Hello,

I recently purchased an Arcam Solo Movie 5.1 and I'm looking for 5.1 speakers to pair with it. I prefer small speakers as I don't have much space to place them... I expect an even blend of movies and music (from classical/piano/vocal to reggae) in a room that's about 15'x18'. Would love some advice!

I am seriously considering the following:
  • Arcam Muso/Logo speakers/sub as they were surely designed to pair well!?
  • Gallo A'Diva Ti speakers w/ S-2 or MPS sub (should I consider Orb Audio too?)
  • Monitor Audio Radius HD (I love my current RS1s...)
  • Dynaudio satellites / sub? Not sure which ones...
  • Energy Micros?
  • Definitive Audio?

Clearly, it's a hard choice, and I don't really have a way to audition... So I'll probably decide based on advice from this forum

FYI - this setup is replacing a wonderful old Quad 405-2 paired with Monitor Audio RS1 speakers - a combo that produced wonderful sound, albeit in stereo... Would love the same warm & enveloping sound in the 5.1 speakers!

Thanks!

Hi Again,

I'm unsure if this posting is appropriate for this forum... If it isn't can anyone point me to a forum where this is appropriate?

Would love to know what speakers Arcam Solo Movie 5.1 owners have out there, and what they think of them...

Thanks!

Why not keep the RS1s, get a RSLCR, and whatever surrounds?

That is a tempting option! But I have a space issue. My wife's been asking me to swap with smaller speakers for years...

I just purchased a Solo Movie 5.1 and will be pairing it with Dynaudio Audience 42sat.

Upgrayedd. Which he spells thusly, with two D's, as he says, "for a double dose of this pimping".

Did you audition the combo? Have you set it up yet? Curious to know how it sounds... (is there really a break in period?)

I did not audition the combo. I have the speakers and am awaiting delivery of the Arcam. This is for a bedroom system and I wasn't real happy with the receiver I was using with the Dynaudio. It will probably be a few weeks till I get my Arcam so can't give you much till then.

I've got Dynaudio in my main system and love the speakers. I mainly purchased the Arcam off reputation as it should only make your speakers sound better, no matter what you chose.

Recommend Focal Sib or Dome, although dome seem to like more power. The sib is excellent for the price and easy to drive (Solo will be fine). Just choose a good sub, and bingo.

Interesting - looks like an possible competitor to the Gallo's, which may be leading the race for me right now (largely because they're easy to find *and* small).

OK, I found an inexpensive & barely used set of Gallo's a'Diva TIs & T-2 sub, which should arrive in a day or two... Can anyone recommend some inexpensive but high quality cable to use with Gallo's? I heard Gallo sells some, but thought I'd check here first
