So I am unsure what would be better for me, I am looking at either a Onkyo HT-S9100THX or build my own system, I am looking at the following if I go my own route:

Klipsch Quintet SL Home Theater System
Klipsch Synergy SUB-10 Subwoofer Speaker
Onkyo TX-SR606

Would those Klipsch speakers be better then the S9100, or would the S9100 be better for me? Or do you guys recommend another setup instead?

Thanks

Those speakers will likely blow away any HTiB. But for a sub look at the internet direct companies (Elemental Designs, SVS, HSU). Nothing against Klipsch but I don't think that sub is worth $400.

The main problem with HTiBs (and maybe this has changed in the past couple of years, but I doubt it) is that to save money and to simplify things they tend to skimp on the speakers.

Whew those Klipsch speakers are expensive!

Whats your budget and do you have to have small speakers??

+1million on getting a sub from an ID company....for the same price...you will get something that will demolish that sub!

It might depend on where you are. That Klipsch sub from Amazon has free shipping, and that includes free shipping to Hawaii and presumably Alaska. Hsu and SVS subs can cost quite a lot extra for shipping. Let me draw your attention to another sub available from Amazon with free shipping: the Sony 15" 200watt SA-W3800 for $182.
