It is the new 215T. That is likely RMK's, as he is first in line for the new JTR REX.

Is there anywhere that I can read about the specs? Looks like two 15" drivers in a tall ported tower with a horn, but I want to know more.

Not much out there. The JTR site probably has the most detail:

By the way, I will be joining the JTR family after all - three 212HT's in rosewood veneer. Some may recall that I auditioned the JBL STX835 and was very impressed. It turned out the JBL's horn ended up not being able to be rotated for center channel use due to placement of the handles. Also, time didn't help the HF compression driver smooth out as much as I had hoped. ETA on the veneered Noesis: six weeks.

When I was talking to Jeff a few days ago, he said in the next few weeks he'll have his prototypes ready.... I guess that means the 215's and the 210's.

It will be nice to read your thoughts on a comparison between the two speakers. You came out strong in support of the JBls, But my guess is you will be more impressed with this purchase. A first hand comparison is the best way to decide. smile.gif

No, there isn't anywhere to read about the specs unless you can read Jeff's mind wink.gif. He is on his 3rd prototype woofer, the CD/Horn are ready and you saw the cabinet (nice little piece of work there). He did give me the basic specs on the custom designed woofer that I don't think he would mind my posting:

I just finished the design for the third 15" driver prototype which will be here in 2 weeks. The driver has 190oz magnet, 16.5mm xmax, 19hz fs.
That gives all the DIY'ers a heads up so that they can start speculating on material costs rolleyes.gif

But seriously wink.gif, this is going to be a very serious loudspeaker and clearly not for everyone. I was intrigued enough by the theory of this full range tower to sell of an already great performing system and pay the toll. How it will turn out is anyones guess, but it certainly is an interesting experiment in HT audio and I can't wait to get started playing. cool.gif

BTW, nice setup PI. smile.gif

They say they are rated for only 1625w, but what is my 15A outlet rated for??

I have one of these on each triax. I have run my system up to reference with the subs 6-8db hot and they didn't get hot or shut down.

I have some other remote on/off solutions listed on my web site. http://www.speakerpower.net/documents.html
I'll tear down one of these and perhaps add it to the list. Good to hear it is working for you.

At 16.5 mm xmax...... it looks like after 20hz they will have not.much left if any, if used as a primary sub systemd..... I could tell you within 30$ how much the driver are, Its not any mystery. all you have to do is look at any other offerings with close to the same specs and that will give you a good idea, then minus volume discount.
These look to be similar in specs to the dayton HO's but likely made by FI. woofers would be around 200$.

Still should be some serious speakers though!!!! Looking forward to getting mine.

They only have a 500 watt tungsten rating which suggests the relay contacts are not very robust. I'm not sure where a sub amp load falls on the resistive/tungsten scale, but until I know I'm leary. They're certainly inexpensive, but long term reliability is important to me.

Solid performance to 20 Hz will still give an impressive experience. Seems to me that going sans subs may be realistic as long as the room works with the placement.

Their - 3dB point was 18Hz so you can assume their port tune is somewhere in that realm.

I wouldn't expect much subsonic ULF performance out of a 20hz ported sub, any more than I expect it out of a ported tower.

I'm remain unconvinced subsonic ULF is worth pursuit - even after hearing sixteen 18" subwoofers in a small 1,500 cubic foot room and demoing many of the popular demo tracks specififically designed to highlight the merits of the ULF. In other words I wouldn't lose any sleep at all over the inability to reproduce subsonic ULF at high levels.
