But your room is so big you need all of those subs.

You know that devil on the shoulder? That was me when I talked Coach into another pair of subs and offered to build the box for him. HA!

did you get those brackets yet for the surrounds?? BTW Jeff told me today at my surrounds will be done next week. Busy week for Jeff with the big GTG in Iowa this weekend!
Thanks Ib105.. Was getting bored lately. So I decided to play with the subs and REW. Though I will redo everything when the speakers comes in. Yea, not to worried with measuremts to much or being ruler flat. But I will do some more treatments. And taking measurements in the process.
Haven't have chance to order the brackets yet. Matter of fact, that one particular bracket you recommend me been sold out since. But they carry different ones that I'm interested and will work. And exciting that your slants are almost done and ready to ship out. Btw, a few days after I put my order for my speakers. I told Jeff that I wanted the regular S8's instead of the slants. Since I was gonna use brackets, the standard 8's would be more versatile for me instead. Especially since we're planning getting another house and moving in a couple years.

I was off work for 2 months after foot surgery. Planned on watching lots of movies but the damn 215RT's ruined that plan and I spent most of that time listening to music in 2 channel mode.

Not that they lack anything for movies ... but it was just too much fun listening to the full range speakers doing their thing with my now greatly expanded HD music collection. Really looking forward to a few more of you sharing your thoughts.

Here's what they look like:

Would be interesting to compare these to the Behringer B215's for those that have the room. Reviews seem quite good here and they are stupid cheap:

I was so close to those 215's for surrounds and even considered the Mackies on a last minute suggestion in a PM from J. But I went with the Volt 10's on Beasts advice since the Coaxial design is better for "not ideally placed surrounds." That is over the horn directivity in these speakers. I think I would have been happy either way. But the Volt 10's for the price are simply amazing! The Book of Eli Gatling gun scene is ridiculous! They handle well and I am supremely happy until someday I upgrade to the likes of S8's or Beasts DIY surrounds.

PARTY FOUL!!! You mentioned 215s for surrounds and I about had a cow...until I got back on track and realized you meant the B215s...please do not use the 215 name in vain. Now can you imagine that Gatling gun scene with 7 215s?

I was hoping for it to be reschuled again. I was really looking forward to seeing all the fellas again and not to mention a state of the art JTR setup I hope you guys have good time. I'll be laying back watching the feedback. On the flip side I got my room all wired before Surgery. Almost ready for Sheetrock.

Been swamped with work since it's 'shooting' season. Alive, but body feels dead!
Haven't been downstairs to listen in like 5 weeks or so...I'm a terrible person.

So how many 215 owners do we have now?

I did what Jeff is suggesting with the 212HT's with an inuke 3000dsp and the results were fantastic.

Nice! Glad to hear the other guys will be getting their 215's soon, I'm starting to get nervous that I'm going to get beat up.
I am going to try this with my 228's and 3000dsp's. Do you recall what you set it at? I understand the frequency and gain amount, but not sure how wide to make it (Q?)

I bet your really glad you have so much real estate behind the screen. Even with the 215's you should have plenty of room. Will the components need to move left or right to make room for the center channel?

Hopefully not.

Only if I have a massive bass null with the center channel.

I still have 5 feet in front of the equipment rack that I can use to move the center channel around.

The total length behind the screen wall is 7.5' And yes, I an very glad I had so much real estate behind the screen.
