I agree wholeheartedly. Wallet has been severely damaged.

But seriously, the equipment is really good, the people are the best.

I just purchased a Omnimic V2 system and it arrived yesterday. I have no idea how to use it yet and I've never created a graph of my room in my life but I'm sure I'll be able to produce them....now interpreting them is something I'm sure I'll need help with.

I wanted to get this and become familiar with it before my 215's arrived so I can be sure they sound their best. My plan is to play with the Omnimic this weekend...try and produce a graph or two and go from there.

Certainly there are some Omnimic "studs" or "graphologists" out there that can help me....yes????

Kind of a dead subject around here, but who is going to be the first in the crew to jump on the Atmos train? I was reading over in the Denon forum and guys are already rolling with Transformers 4 and upscaling other movies. Kinda of happened pretty quick.

I talked to Jeff about this again last week. I'm pretty sure I'll do it after the first of the year. I have room in my second layer of my soffit (ceiling). I need to crawl in my attic and get the dimensions to see what I can get in there. I'm more worried about depth as I have a slanted roof line on the left side of my room. Jeff has not decided on how to attach a version of the single 8s yet. I'm sure once someone forces his hand or gives him the specifics, it'll start happening on his end. I think it (Atmos) adds a nice effect but if it wasn't as easy as it's going to be for me, I might hold off till I see the true uptake. I have the space for it and I ran speaker cable for wides and heights but didn't use them. I'll pull the cables up out of the walls and use them for my ceiling speakers.

Great to hear Nabs! I don't have the Omnimic as I have used REW but yes there are some Omnimic studs on here. Start playing with it and start a thread with your questions. It is worth it to learn ir and isn't too bad once you get over the initial hump. Have fun!

LOL, that window popped up one day a while back with me also and I asked if it was Tom and sure enough it was. We chatted a bit.

One thing I can say is that I have had quite a few PSA products and still do and Tom and Jim were pretty amazing start to finish. Things have not changed

Funny- I did the same...wonder if it's really him. He helped me with two SVS subs about 12 years ago

What's LS DZ scene?

But I am also a little more worried that they can't do LFE properly then worrying about watching the drivers dance. They are amazing speakers, but if they can't also play LFE I may have to return (if Jeff lets me) or sell them. If I would have know that upfront and if its not just an issue I am having, I would have gone 212HT's

They play LFE at and over reference just fine. I'm not sure I understand what you are worrying about in that regard.

Wow. SOWK and I were listening tonight at my house and I mentioned I had been experiencing some fatigue when listening at reference. I forgot about the -2.5bd eq filter at 2khz with q. At 1.0 on LCR since I set up then new pre pro. We were about to change the equipment out when he said lets try the eq drop at 2khz. so we did and...Crazy good now. The more power I add to this system the better complicated rock sounds. Yeah the easy dance mixes still sound good but the difference now on ollder rock CD's are just getting better above reference. The louder the better on stuff not usually good this loud. Heavy metal and rock is working really well right now. Dance and highly dynamic misic was always easy but listening to Queensryche which I never like too loud now suddenly is much better above ref. If you can build enough headroom not just in the subs but in the mains and subs you can make music that was never considered particularly dynamic suddenly sound really good.

Your system must sound friggn awesome Ibrown. With all that work with your room planning and treatments. The 212HT fed with LG. Slanted 8's and.. ahem!.. TRIPLE OS! Good work. Hopefully I get to attend Axpona next year and stop by your place for a demo..

The XMC-1 plays very nicely with the lab and it is amazing but even at +35dB gain setting you can only hear the slightest of hiss with your ear right on the speaker, even 1 ft back and I cannot hear it. I have it set now at +32dB gain so that -18 on the MV is 85dB with a -20dB test tone in REW, so basically -18MV is reference.

Here is the 212HT by itself and then a shot of 500hz and down with the OS's added.
That's a lot of SPLs...

I did hook up my LG Clone to the 212s for a week or so.. it was great as I can turn the knob up more and more... However, after hooking back my Receiver, till today i never felt the need to hook my LG up again.. I have never gone to the levels on my receiver which says 'I need more'...

Looks like my LG Clone is on standby for when i add speakers (like DIY subs, MBMs, etc...)

Speaking of OS.. anyone compared the OS to the TRIAD sub by PSA? Can that sub match the OS in output?

Depends on what frequency range you're asking about, the Triax can go head to head with a Cap S2 so I would think it would be the same as comparing an S2 to a OS.

Thanks for the Info... looks like a good deal then as it also looks to have a smaller footprint than the S2.

Jeff mentioned that for those of us with the 212s wanting more Mid Bass can simply use an equalizer...

How do you set this up... is it like:

Receiver > Multi-Band Equalizer > External Amp like the LG > Speaker?
Receiver > DSP (like the MiniDSP) > External Amp

?
