Don't everyone call him just yet....he sent me an e-mail lastnight saying he's finishing up my speakers and expects to ship them by Tuesday. So after Tuesday, feel free to bombard him with calls.

I would love JTR atmos options for in ceiling, but the thought of the size and cost scare me. Jeff doesn't do anything small!

Last time I spoke to him about this, he was thinking a low profile 8 modification. Depth will be the issue for me as I have a slanted roof line on one side of my theater.

And yeah....four grand in Atmos height speakers will be a bitter pill to swallow.

I would have loved to get Slant 8's but couldn't afford four of them.
I think even the cx-8 might need to be low profile...my s8lp have spoiled me...although these could fit overhead. If Jeff makes something using a 6" woofer and around 7" deep, that would be perfect for surrounds and less costly. He can take his time though...I'm on the fence about upgrading just yet to any of the atmos receivers...not very excited about the current hardware limit of surround of 9.x.2 or 7.x.4 channels...when Dolby has made 24.x.10 available for home receivers. I'd really like to do a minimum 9.x.6, or even better overkill, a 12.x.6 (lcr, 3 surrounds on each of 3 walls, and 6 overhead) to create more of a dome of sound based on the object oriented mix. In addition to the lcr, I've got an odd number of 9 surrounds available...so just need to acquire a few more surrounds if those lazy av guys can release an av with super atmos support. [emoji57]

For a Atmos application Jeremy from RA would build a low profile cabinet, I've already had this discussion with him

Speaking of Random Apple $hit, I've been playing with my new Apple iPad Air 2 and am liking it so far. The faster processors and extra memory make a huge difference over my iPad 3.

Ughh...JTR something...the weather looks good so I think I'll measure me some more speakers on Sunday...S8 against the 212 HT-LP. And I'll get ground plane measurements too. If Coach is feeling better...I'll see if I can grab a Cat12 too but not sure how likely that is to happen.
