Hi all -

Just a quick question. I have found the CSi3 for a reasonable price all over the wonderful internet and it seems to be the "prior" version of the CSi A4. I picked up the RTi A5 (sound great btw) and I want to make sure everything sounds good on the front end.

Would the CSi3 be a suitable supplement for the CSi A4, or should I hold out until I find the A4 on sale or something?

Thanks for the help!!!

Looks like the only changes are aesthetic, and in the center that's pretty much limited to the baffle. I doubt there would be any sonic difference.

I have a CSi3. It was originally paired with my RTi4s in my small and modest HT setup.

I since upgraded to the RTiA3s and still use the CSi3. The pairing is still very good.

The CSi3 and CSiA4 are very comparable in sound - I would not worry about any drastic differences.

But in your case since you are running RTiA5s - I'd seriously consider you look for a deal on the CSi5 or CSiA6 since the bigger brother series would be a better match driver-wise with your RTiA5s.

Polk's eBay direct source has had some very good deals on CSi5s - not sure if there are any still, but they do show up from time to time.

Just my small 2cents worth....

If you listen to any music you will need to upgrade the tweeter to get rid of the brightness like I've done: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/attac...hmentid=152794

Polk SL2000WC $3 DIY mod. Smaller the uf, the less harsh your SL2000 is.

Welp, thats all I need. I have had enough of the HTIB center channel being pwned by the RTi's. Order is being processed :-)

I really would do the CSI5 or CSI a6, much improved from the Cs2 I owned before.

I have a "cozy" set up. Since the CSi3's are from the same family. They will work for my set up. If I expand my entertainment space, I will then consider upgrading to a more adequate center channel. But for my space I think the CSi3 will be more than enough.

That sl2000 tweeter is just as bright as the original.
