Excellent A/V store and one of the best in the country. Their service is exemplary. I've been his customer for 30+ years.

BTW, my Triton Ones sound even better in my home than they did in the store. You are welcome to hear them in my home environment.

So I am looking at the Supersat series again. I have demod them in person a month back.

Current TV size 55" and room is 11' 6" deep by 12' 6" wide.

My thought would be the Supersat 60 for a center for sure.

Would the Supersat 60 look odd as Mains as well since they would be taller than the height of the TV? Would it be better to go with the Sat 50 as L/R Mains

I would go with Supersat 3s in the rears.

These would be replacing my current setup of - 5.0 setup. Front/Left NTL3, Center N3s, Rear Left/Rear Right AV1RS Gr-Research speakers.

Only other on wall considering is Martin Logan Motion SLM & SLM XL or Paradigm Millenia LPXL.

Hi cburbs,

You'll want to consider a pair of GoldenEar subs to take care of the lower octaves that the Supersats can't reproduce. A pair of GoldenEar Supersubs will enable a higher crossover frequency that will minimize sub location, blend in with the SuperSats, smooth out the frequency response and help deal with those pesky room modes below 300Hz.

Marantz SR-7009, Oppo BPD-93, MTV 7000D, aTV, Harmony Home Control remote, KEF E301+T101, MiniDSP (2x4)+(10x10HD)+(DDRC-88A), Emotiva 2xXPA-5 (Gen2), Rythmik 2xF12G+2xF8, HiMedia Q16, LG 55EC9300.

Anyone with thoughts on the following -
Current TV size 55" and room is 11' 6" deep by 12' 6" wide.

My thought would be the Supersat 60 for a center maybe.

I don't think it would look strange with 60s. I have larger towers that far exceed the TV size, so at some point, yes, it does matter, but I would also consider upgrading your TV at some point as well. When UHD becomes more prevalent, a larger screen is needed to get the maximum benefit of that technology.

Are you against a Super Center X with Aon 2's all around?

2's won't work for rears. Need to be able to hang on wall. Trying to clean up space as now that the floor plan changed the room is smaller.

Also trying to avoid speakers and stands. Interesting thought with center x and Aon2s though. Might have to listen to them.

You could use something like this to hang all of the bookshelf speakers on the wall. They work well. I just think you'll get much better SQ this way.

Speakers have been ordered.

I went with the supersat 50s as L/R mains, 60c(center channel), and Sat3's for rears. They only had the Sat3s in stock so they had to order the rest.

How would you mount the rears. see rough drawing of back of room.

Again room is 11' 6" deep by 12' 6" wide.

1 - sidewall
2 - backwall
3 - corner of wall - probably not a good idea

My current speakers are on the back wall. I don't recall if I ever had small speakers like this for rears so reason I am asking.

Since they are only sold through their Dealer network, I would check with your local dealer.

I'm looking to buy the two plus but I'm wondering does that make sense since I have dual rythmik vx 15 inch subs. Should I just go for the five instead? I listen 70 percent music and the room is about 2700 cubic feet with the room opening up to the stairs to the upper level. I really want to get the two plus but I don't want to overspend if I don't have to. I'm a bassaholic and I'm coming from the Polk Lsim 707's .

How far d you sit from the speakers?

If you have good subs the T5's are sweet.

I'd take a look at Sandy's comment linked below that provides his take on Fives + Subs vs. T1/T2+... Needless to say, I'm looking exclusively at the latter.

Localizing the subs with the T1/T2+ has benefits but I like the flexibility of separate subs. This depends on the room and available wall space. Say an open concept home layout yields well to the powered versions.

Even with T1/ T2+ in an HT environment I agree one may consider subs for the deeper tactile base but I'd probably cross at 40.

So now Im thinking about the T1. How much difference between the two? Or should I just go with the T2+ and xl/xxl center channel?

Is there a huge difference between the XL and XXL center?

It would depend on your room. I am going for the T1 since my room is fairly large. At the same time, the T1's aren't bad for small rooms, you just may not exploit the T1's advantages over the T2+. Also, the XXL leverages a balanced crossover, similar to the T1 and T2+. The XL does not.

My advice? Listen to everything. I've listened to the T1s >10 times and setup T1s and T2+'s side by side. Unfortunately for my pocket book, my ears preferred the T1.

A lot of GoldenEar fans out there. I have not made the time to listen to them yet, but was wondering how they (Triton 1) would stack up to something like Dunlavy SC-IVA? That may be to too dated for some of you youngsters , but just thought I'd ask in case anyone has listened to those in the past.

If you are interested in movies I would still suggest the Five's (crossed over at 50-60Hz) and two SVS or HSU subs. I am currently running 2+'s and 2x HSU ULS-15 MKII's and the result is wonderful. I couldn't live with the 2+ without additional subs for movies.
Where is your crossover set between the T2+ and the subs?

I have the T2's (2011) and a Power Sound Audio XS30 and set the crossover on my Onkyo 818 for the sub at 80Hz, the T2's at full range.

Thinking about moving to floorstanders GoldenEar

I love the sound of SuperSat 50 and 50C LCR combo, but can't help but wonder what GoldenEar floorstanders would sound like in my setup. I do use sub, will there be more difference in sound if I switch to the floorstanders? I am tempted to try floorstanders since I "opened that can of worms" of upgrading.
