I recently purchased Polk 60's and need a center channel speaker smaller than the CS1 or CS2 center channels , due to space reasons...Is there a Polk center channel that is small but would still match the CS1/CS2 for compatability? Would something like the Polk audio RM8C be a disaster? I am about 60/40 movies/music...
Dialog clarity is important...
Any suggestions would be welcome ,be gentle , I am new to this world...

if you value dialog clairty don't go with a small center. small centers are ment for small fronts

The monitor 60's will over power a small satelite center.

What about the Polk CS10 that is smaller than the Cs1

What about skipping a center speaker all together and letting the front towers handle center channel duty? Taht would be better than getting a small center that doesn't match with your Monitor 60's.

I agree with this statement. A few months ago I got some polk RTiA1's as fronts and was using a sony htiab center for a bit -- I was much better off just disconnecting the center and letting the fronts do the work while I waited for my A4 center to come in.

Thanks,, I think I will do that & skip the center channel for now....
Another question...
Are there other brands of speakers(center channel) that are possible "matches" for my Polk speakers?

Some speakers from different brands do have very similar timbre matching. I've experienced this myself. I had a set of Emotiva ERTs but didn't have the recommended matching center. What I did have was an Infinity Beta C360. The timbre match was near perfect - and in fact as close to the ERM 6.3 that was the match.

The trouble with this approach is you could go through a lot of speakers to find something close enough to your mains before finding that match. Best off to stick with the recommended center or just forgo using a center.

When all else fails - RTFM!
