It has been a while since I bought most of my stuff, but here is what I got going off of memory.

Panasonic TC-P50G25 - $1,200
Onkyo TX-NR1008 - $1,000
Gears of War Xbox360 - $400
PS3 slim 120G - $400
Traxxes rack mounted surge protector - $85
3X eD[c]12 - bought two standard used for $750 and on with upgraded CD for $450
Boston Acoustic MCS100 speakers and sub for surrounds and heights - $200
Ikea diode lights for TV backlight - $50
miscellaneous cables - $100
a/v rack - free from my work

So right now I am sitting at about $4,600 and I have plans for a DIY sub that is going to run me around $1,000.

Man, I never would have thought when I first got into this hobby a few years a go that I would have so much money wrapped up in it, with still more money to spend on things like room treatments, artwork, etc.

Another frugal deal hunter here:

Canadian prices

Energy RC 30's: $500
Energy LCR: $400
Energy RC-R's: $360
Energy CR-10's: $125
Denon AVR 2112: $550
PS3 slim: $250
Kenwood Sub: Free
46" Samsung d6000 LED: $850

$3035

That is pretty damn good.

I am also looking at doing a DIY sub down the road. I'd like to do it for $400.

Pretty happy right now. Dont anticipate any changes for a bit.

Now:
Panny Plasma TH-50PZ85U
Paradigm Studio 60 v5 mains
Onkyo SR-605
SVS SB12
Klipsch WC-24 center
Klipsch Quintet II (for the surrounds)
Sony Blu - ray
apple TV

6K or so

Unanticipated changes (famous last words)
Paradigm cc-590 replaced Klipsch WC-24 center
Marantz SR6007 replaced Onkyo SR-605 (turns out, this was the only upgrade I really needed, though the 590 is going nowhere)

Looking back, that 6K quote was a little high. That previous iteration cost about $5700. The current setup takes it up to $7,500

At least I managed to sell the old equipment for decent prices....

My setup is low budget, but I feel like I got a lot for my money. Myself and family get plenty of enjoyment watching movies/TV, playing video games and even some web surfing with this setup:

A) $450.00 Projector: LG PA70g LED
B) $80.00 Screen: (Can't recall the maker)
C) $227.00 Receiver: Denon AVR-1712
D) $150.00 Front L/C/R speakers: Three Pioneer C21s
E) $30.00 Rear surround speakers: Two Yamaha NS-AP7900MBL
F) $188.00 Subwoofer: BIC F12
G) $400.00 Media PC: (home built with quality but low cost parts from various vendors)
H) $0.00 Room furnishings: (Used couches and roll of carpet in half of basement (planning a proper finishing next spring)

Is this supposed to be MSRP or what we actually paid for our gear? Because for many, including me, those numbers are very different.

Between the cost to have a contractor finish the basement, the furniture and the cost of the equipment = A LOT :-) But, I get tons of enjoyment out of it and can you really put a price on happiness :-)

There were some items that got a deal on so probably another 3-5k if it were MSRP. Also I have not done any treatments yet but those should be cheap, ill do DIY.

P.S. The wife knows ive spent a lot on this system, but not this much so i think she would be surprised as well. I wont tell her.....she might want a new diamond smile.gif

HP Windows Remote

Lots of other PCs tablets, displays and lots of bookshelves including Usher S520, JBL HSL-620 Definitive SM45,Micca, some Boston and some vintage stuff, you name it... A couple of Sony receivers, a Pioneer Xbox 360 HITB, another Denon (591).. An 82" Mitsubishi DLP in a spare bedroom. I don't really know what it all cost anymore.. Add it all together it might make me cry. I think I should seek counseling. I really have to sell some of this stuff. At least the NHT Classic Three is going back.

I can only guess at the totality, maybe $25-30K probably much higher. An 8 year long collection.. I really intend to sell a lot of it. I need a new car.

I have a couple of Mazda Miatas in the garage including a 2004 Mazdaspeed factory turbo special with 19 thousand miles on it which is about what I paid for it. Haven't driven it 500 miles total in the last 3 years. I though AV was a cheaper hoppy than cars, apparently not. The Mazdaspeed is still worth half what I paid for it.

Just another blank signature.

No need to be depressed, or embarrassed about your system, all that matters is that you enjoy it. It doesn't matter how much you've spent on it.....look at the OP, his was $1100, but he was proud enough to post it here and start this thread. To be honest I was completely surprised at how much I spent, almost 20k! Now I'm not rich, or wealthy, or even well off. I'm just a average guy, with a average job, and average life but somehow I got a hobby that I spend all my money on. Some people ride dirt bikes, or have jet boats, build cars etc. etc. I like to do all the mentioned but instead of putting money into them I choose to buy stereo equipment, and that's all I've done for the last 5 years.

So what are you rockin?
