I'm a newbie looking to build my first decent HT system, and I found 2 pairs of lightly used Definitive Tech ProCinema 1000 and 800 monitors as well as a 2000 center channel for $450 total.

First off, does this seem like a fair price for the five speakers?

Would they integrate well to make a nice introductory 5.0 system for music/Blu-Ray/PS3 in a 12x14 area that's part of a larger 12x28 space?

What subs (preferably with decent musicality) and receivers would work well for this setup? I would like to get out at under $1500 all said and done (including the ProCinema set).

I must admit, part of me is also looking at a simpler Energy RC-Micro 5.1 system which can be had at a fraction at the cost, though also a fraction of the performance, I assume.

Thoughts and recommendations are much appreciated!

the ProCinema's are a good buy. A complete ProCinema 800 5.1 bundle is about $1.2K

For a receiver, you might look at a Denon 591, Onkyo SR508/608, or Pioneer 820/920

For a subwoofer, look at Hsu Research or Elemental Designs

Thanks for the suggestions. On a side note, I now see that I posted this in the wrong forum; sorry about that.

I'm also debating looking at Emotiva's Ultra Series of subs, though the 12 seems to now be out of my budget.
