Hi Guys,

I have a pair of BS22 as my main L/R, C22 for center and its 8" sub. I live in a nyc apartment and don't have a lot of space. I am looking for a pair of surround to mount on back of the wall where my sofa is. The BS22s are too large and not a WAF....

I'm looking to see if anyone has paired a different brand for their surround.... some of the options I'm thinking of are: Cambridge Audio minx, boston acoustic cubes, etc....

Something of a lifestyle cube speakers...

My alternative is to replace my entire speakers with lifestyle cube speakers if mix match isn't a good thing....

Anyone in the similar situation and have found a good alternative for the surrounds?

Thanks in advance

It is not as important to "timbre match" the rears to the mains. Surround sounds are usually ambient and not critical. I use in-walls with my first gen Pios and it's fine. Better ones, of course, are more desirable just on principle.

You DON'T want to replace your mains with cubes.
M.T.Nest and charmerci like this.

Downloadable FREE demo discs: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/150-bl...=bd9+demo+disc

Did you really need to quote that entire post in your reply?

Thanks for your advice. I didn't really want to part with the pioneers, they are really excellent consider the price. I was gunning for a set of B&W until I demo'ed both.... for 80% performance for 1/5 of the price...

now on to search for a WAF surround....

Not sure if it has been covered yet, but I have noticed that the center speaker of the 2nd gen sounds a bit different than the bookshelves in my system. I kinda want to try a BS22 for the center on it's side, but would this mess up the dispersion characteristics?

Can anyone recommend some speaker stands they are happy using with the BS-41s (or equivalent)?

Thanks.

I would say yes. If you're gonna use a bs22 for center mount it vertically. If you can't do that use a c22.

Yep, it may be worth a try. They are so inexpensive, that it would probably be just fine to repurpose them if needed. I will see what I can do to get another pair in and report back.
