Been running without xt32 engaged for the last few days. It actually still sounds great and I don't miss anything at all. having multiple rows this may be a better option.

Hello!

Hi CDY

hope all is well!

I received my HST 18 subs (2) to go with JBL 3677's and are ready to be placed.

Do I need to place the driver facing towards the wall? What do you recommend?

Also, I am unable to connect Inuke 6000 to any software that is mentioned in these forums? Any manual steps that I can follow? I am using Marantz Sr70009

Thanks for your time.

Anyone's input on 3677 vs DIYSG F15. Around the same price but much more labor. But dynamics? Better extended highs? Resolution? Midbass?

Just face drivers and ports into the room. Here's some info on sub setup.

The Behringer website has software to interface with the inukes.

Compilation of Multiple Sub setup info

The output from the 3677 tracks the x curve. The fusion 15 does not. If you can EQ the 3677 flat, they'll be fairly similar.

If you can build, no reason not to go with the fusion 15.

If you're referring to the 3677s, you'll need to build some kind of shelf. They're not light.

I used small tables from ikea. I've got an acoustically transparent screen so they're out of sight. The center sits on my Captivator 1400.

I'd consider flipping the middle one or raising the sides so that the waveguides are all at the same height.

So if there was no building involved with the f15 wouldn't it be a better speaker then the Jbl? Bigger wave guide no xcurve. Better fq response?

I haven't heard the 3677, but I've got the F15. I don't think there's much a 3677 would do that these won't, they're fantastic.

I'd be willing to wager the directivity is better, even.

I would be happy to be proven wrong if someone has a set of 3677 to loan me for a weekend

I'd think the biggest difference post EQ would be the woofer. Both being crossed where they are handling at least half the vocal range. Not to mention mid bass. JBL is know to be extremely smooth and have great midbass. Now I have not heard the F15 but I know a guy who had DIY QSC 2150s said they were better than his F15s and he even did a blind test with family members and all agreed.. and the 3677 to my ears is extremely similar to the 2150s I had.

I like having a 3 way speaker. When I had my 1099s but just wanted more midbass impact and a little more extension. I looked at the 2150s they interest me but there's not info on them that I can find. 4722 looks like the go to speake. But I really don't want to spend almost 4g. 3677 seems great but I wonder how it does with music?

Hey Frankie - I'm in Virginia, if you want to listen to the 3677s.

A 3 way speaker is not an advantage. The best speaker if it existed would be a single driver with no crossover points.

From GTGs on AVS with 1099s and Frankenstein 2150s (was using a single 12" driver which handles 500hz and down) I'd say it's a lateral move although the 2150 wasn't in a baffle wall as intended but in two GTG the pretty much went back and forth. Once the 2150 is in a baffle wall midbass and bass down to 30hz will make you question if you need a sub as it will violate the room with extreme tactile bass.

As for music there's tons of info on this thread..including the Andrew Robinson reviews on YouTube.

follow up review

There's also this site which I linked to earlier in thread.

Now I think they've falling off their rockers thinking an outboard crossover is doing anything and I'm pretty sure any changes they heard was due to the drivers breaking in.

It's hard to tell by the pictures but I would put the blame on JBL. All the speakers I have purchased have used wide Styrofoam corners on the speakers which allows a lot of mishandling by UPS without damage. Packing has really improved over the years but not to the extend that UPS can't destroy a shipment once in a while.

Hmm.. the only issue would be over half the vocal come from the woofer. Flipping it gets the woofers even farther apart. I'd try moving the sub and getting another table or flipping the sub on its side getting all 3 in line.

I seen those reviews with Andrew. I know there's more of the Jbl reviews. But I don't see much about QSC? I have to see if I can find the GTG thread again. Was the 2150 clones of the original. Or he tweaked it?

Same exact wave guide assembly just different woofer. So basically the same as OEM from 500hz and up. Of course I owned OEM 2150s.

I just started reading that other forum hat you posted and seen you owned the 2150s. And you went back to the Jbls. Why? Do you still have the JBLs and how do you like them today? For movies and music?
