ok, I inherited these awesome but I'm sure cheaply made Techwood tower speakers. They are probably at leat 5' tall and have huge 12 or 15" speakers on the side of them and a couple smaller speakers in the front of them, but sound fantastic. I know they are probably a cheap brand and might not be that awesome, but trying to find the specs on them to compare them to the Polk Audio 70's to see if it's worth the money to me. I mean the speaker I have sound awesome, but if the Polk Audio 70's are way better and will sound much butter, i'll invest the money, but if they are pretty close then it wouldn't be worth it. Does anyone know where or how I could the specs on these speakers to compare them to the 70's?

That's all that matters...

You're not going to find any specs, even if you did, they're not to be trusted. Additionally, no reviewer w/ test gear would ever review them....Thus, specs don't matter on that piece.

They're a rental store brand. I'm glad you like them.

Ah yes, good ol' Techwood Pro studio speakers. They used to sell them at Aaron's rent to own stores for outlandish prices.

I saw a pair of those a few years ago, those are so big I could be burried in them when I die! They sounded cool too, loudest speakers known to man. (you could run them LARGE without a sub and still be evicted!)

Welton/techwood pro studio speakers

welton pro studio speakers weather they are ps412, ps413, redwoods, mach 5 these are professional high fi dj speakers. they can fill most meeting rooms at a hotel with beautiful results. if they are underpowered and pushed they will sound distorted like any decent speaker outfit would. white van speaker? who is the dummy? i keep hearing this crap and those that say they are white van speakers have no clue what they are talking about. most of those rent a centers in the midwest and southeastern united states were selling these monsters for around 1699.00 a pair. they were a beast when powered in most homes that purchased them and i have encountered a few friends that made the purchase. i am one of them and hello-10 plus years later they sound as good as the day the rent a center delivered them. a white van speaker would not provide the quality, weight of cabinet, or even come close to the db's these puppy's were made to dish out. i currently have a set of ps412's with two treble base arrays with horn tweeter going with them on amazon for 1200.00 including shipping and that is a super sweet deal and worth every dollar. having these speakers hooked up to my house was a total blast. i had them in my man cave that was my two car garage. i had that room rocking with my walls decorated with my vinyl record collection. it is true that when i played tapes and compact disks i could crank it up, and vinyl i still agree sounds better. i just could not push those puppies like i wanted due to cartridge feedback. i could not afford a 3000.00 rosewood cartridge so i just had to pull in the reins a little. my neighbors down the street were cool about it. a little live and let live formulas went boths ways quite well. welton used rent a centers for a distribution market and it was a win win and if a white van was included it had rent a center painted on the sides front and rear of the delivery vehicle. anyone can look up welton but those white van electronics are spotted real quick by the off the wall msrp on the box and someone trying to get one to fork over a few hundred at a atm location. it seams like a least once a month i have someone trying to sell that junk to me. and every time it happens is when i go to the drive up atm and then someone pulls up in an extended cab pickup with the same lines. i got a few stereos for sale......make sure if required, if you need replacement parts for your speakers or repair's i go to parts express. they really do a great job and will not make you pay a replacement cost. they are great at reconeing anything. i sent them a 8 inch jbl and it came back like factory purchased. these other folks sharing their story about these speakers are telling the godspell truth about being a decent set and for the price you will find the investment well worth it. my next piece of advice is do not waste your money on an extended warranty. that is just buying beer for everyone in management that includes a quartely bonus

Over the years i have upgraded most of my equipment..but have not ever upgraded from these speakers and they are still going strong!!! My amp is pushing 425watts@4 ohms per channel into them..and man let me tell you!!!

I just picked up a set of the Welton Mach ii's ps302 and a set of the ps413y weltons for 200 bucks in pristine condition. My question is are they running 8 ohm per speaker? I am thinking about getting a rack amp to power these 4 speakers. I have a Pioneer VSX 1022 receiver and want to put the amp between the Pioneer and the 4 speakers. Thanks for any feedback I can get (No pun intended )

Got them hooked up and they are unbelievable!!!! Only running100 watts through them and wow, clear, zero distortion when cranked up, and LOUD!!!!! I just ordered a Behringer Inuke 3000 watt rack among. I can't wait to see how they sound with some decent power.
