I have purchased a lot of wire/connectors/hdmi/rca cables from monoprice and think they offer very good value. I am NOT a fan of their banana plugs.

I don't like the banana's either, that is if you take them out anytime. The ends easily get compressed and get loose but I do swap out things more than most. My favorite are the monster as they always seem to fit and hold tight every time. The Axioms were the worst I ever used. That cheap dual screw type banana works great too!

You've gotta admit they sure do make these cables sound good on paper!!!! I love the colourful language!!! And what a STEAL at only $2799.99 for a pair of 8ft cables!!! LOL

HARMONIC TECH - MAGIC TWEETER 8FT SPEAKER WIRE PR

Harmonic Tech’s goal was to create loudspeaker cables that would deliver unrivaled system performance - unleashing all the MAGIC within your system and allowing your speakers to perform to their fullest and previously unattainable potential.

Using a unique blend of Harmonic Technology’s famous 7N (99.99997%) high purity single crystal silver and 6N (99.9997%) high purity single crystal copper conductors, the Magic Tweeter represent the finest in signal transfer between your amplifier and loudspeakers. With completely new technology, it utilizes tremendous quantities of multi gauges, individually insulated conductors with un-compromised construction.
Each individual run contains 10-gauge or higher conduits.
Whichever you choose, these colossal MAGIC runs provide a speaker interface with an unmatched balance of transparency, detail and harmonic balance.
Listening Impression:
• Designed completely from the ground up with nothing but the finest performance in mind, the MAGIC Speaker Cable offers the highest level of transparency, detail and lowest noise floor you can possess today.
• MAGIC Cables deliver optimal performance from your loudspeakers and are the most uncolored and articulate speaker cables that can be built.

Low bass is both blindingly fast and extremely controlled, offering a synergy of speed and pitch definition that brings music to life.
• Midrange is deliciously rendered, with a vibrancy and truthfulness of timbre that breathes life into the human voice as well as those of the piano, violin and other demanding instruments.
• Treble is extended, smooth and detailed, without the 'edge' and aggressiveness so often found in other cables that provide an artificial sense of detail.
• The cables recreate the upper harmonics of instruments with a sense of detail and ease, yet none of the glare that so often causes listening fatigue.
• Sense of space is both enormous and focused.

• The ability to get both macro, and the more intimate micro, dynamic shadings is breathtaking.
• Shielding from radiated noise allows the cables to push the noise floor to levels that previously have only been imagined.

The result is a stunning level of performance in transparency, timbre, precise imaging, micro and macro dynamic freedom, bass detail and articulation previously unprecedented from any other speaker cable in production today.

Anyone who pays $375/ft for a pair of loudspeaker cables is paying too much!

I'm using a proprietary transmission system (Monoprice 14AWG wire and closed banana plugs.) For a limited time, I'm offering custom-engineered pairs for just $75 + $100/ft.*

Be the envy of your less well-endowed friends! Order now!

*A shipping and handling fee applies to all orders to cover the cost of a box and some stamps.

Since I am the only person that ever sees my cables I stopped at the 12ga wire and the banana plugs.
With any luck it will be years until I see the speaker wires again.

Sir, until you add some battery packs and/or empty boxes to those cables, they are just going to be cables and will not create the illusion of being there amidst a sea of musical notes!

I regularly order from Monoprice to create my own custom cables but wanted to add that I get my get my Techflex from the eBay guy "furryletters" as well. The guy is old school and includes his cell number on eBay listings, and if you don't see the exact color or length combination just call him and he'll get you whatever you need. I also get my heat shrink tubing from him and since I only use it for the ends he barely charges me for small pieces. I recently made some killer bi-amp speaker cables using white Techflex & white heat shrink + Monoprice speakerwire and bananas for less than $20 TOTAL.

Go to GLSAudio.com. I've bought the regular banana's, the spades and the locking banana's. They are all great connectors. Similar to Monster, but the prices are alot cheaper. I use the locking banana's and the spades. The regular banana's don't hold like the locking, which are excellent. The site has video for the diy.
