I have a seemingly simple problem for my low-end (temporary) setup, but can't seem to work out exactly what I need.

I have two audio sources
TV- RCA (red/white) out to 3.5mm cable
Airport Express - 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable

So I essentially have 2 x 3.5mm cables which I want to connect to my measly 2.1 speakers, which only have one 3.5mm input.

Ideally, I don't want have to get up and press a switch, because if I am doing that, I might as well just stick with what I have and swap over the cables.

I looked a Y cables (two 3.5mm female to one 3.5mm male), but it seems that there might be issues in overloading the speakers and damaging them?

So I guess I would have to use a switch, but I would like one that can be controlled remotely if they exist. If they don't, are there any manual switches that are recommended?

Thanks for your time,

I don't have any experience with a remote control audio switch, but a search for just that turns up a number of choices.

For a manual switch I can recommend the Sony SB-V40S A/V Selector.

there do exist remote switches, they're usually in the $40 to $60 range, and you'll probably have to convert that 3.5mm to RCA to use such a device (at least what I'm thinking of); something like this: http://www.amazon.com/RCA-VH915-Sour...8409208&sr=8-9
