Went to American tonight and ran across a set of Focal Sib/Cub2 5.1 system. Can anyone tell me more about them? They sounded great, but I have not heard of this brand.

Thanks in advance.

They are a great brand I was about to pick them up last night. They are made by jmlab a French company. The set u were looking at probably had the deal of 1299 with a yamagata correct? The dome series sound much better though... Also I ended up getting a denon 2311ci and started off with two 806v by focal from there... My sales guy really knew his stuff a true audiophile I plan on getting a center then two towers of the same series little by little and then a sub...

Focal strikes a good balance between music and movies. They are
neutral, clean and detailed sounding. Their midrange and treble is
hard to beat, at their price point. They have been doing this stuff
for a long time. You may want to think about building your system
in parts, if your budget is restricted. The bookshelf speakers have
good resolution, and produce a nice soundstage.
