I'm in as always. Summer is a busy time for me, so let's nail something down with enough planning time.

I'm willing to host again if you guys are interested. One thing is that my Salk's traveled their last time to Brandon's. They will not travel again unless they are sold, and that's not happening anytime soon.

I have some new room treatment ideas in the planning stages. Maybe I can tame my bass peak and we can run things full-range.

I can buy any beer you want. :-)

Nothing you haven't heard before:

Salk HT-TL2's & HTC2
Dual SVS Cylinder Subs
SVS AS-EQ1
Axiom QS8 surrounds (did have all Axiom before Salk upgrade)
Denon 3808
Parasound 2100
Emotiva XPA-3
Carada 10' Criterion BW screen
Epson 8350 projector

Last two weekends in July won't work for me.

In fact, between vacation time and work, I won't have a free weekend until the middle of August.

If some of you plan to come from out of state, we could shoot for august or September if that's better?

^ Awesome! I love Vandersteen speakers, so the 3A's will be a welcome addition, not to mention the Audio Research preamp.

Curtis, I'm actually trying to talk the wife into a Disney trip this summer. I really enjoyed CA and want to visit again. This time we'll hit the beach, though.

Cool! I have other friends trying to plan a Disneyland trip for the summer as well. If my schedule allows, I will try and join them with my kids.

If you decide on a trip, many companies offer discount tix for Disneyland (and other attractions. Not huge discounts, but fair). Let me know, I will get you the pricing.

On the Wisconsin note, can you guys throw out some hotels suggestions in the area?

Didn't know they were shipping
I'm on the preorder list (at least I thought I was) and haven't heard a
peep from Ascend.

I agree about GTG's in our area!

You are close to Ascend, and should be able to check out the only other pair in existence, at the moment, there.

Keep me in the loop if you guys do an L.A. GTG. I may not have the artillery to contribute but I can bring cold beer and lift heavy stuff

Same here minus the heavy lifting. I'd doubt I'd do much good trying to lift something heavy.

Thank you for the information, Curtis. We'll be in touch me thinks.

Concerning hotels, it really depends on where we hold the GTG. If it's at Terry's I'll let him recommend hotels in the Manitowac/Green Bay area. If it's Brandon then he'd know which hotels are best in the East Troy/Lake Geneva area. Basically, though, we've got everything to the cheap dive motel to the Pfister, Hilton and Hyatt.

If you guys do an LA GTG keep us informed. Perhaps some of us could make the trip?

We would be happy to host another GTG here at our facility A bit of a drive from LA (about 60 miles south) but we have a fantastic listening room and the ability to do accurate and instant A/B switching.

All speakers would be welcome of course!

I mostly see comparison between the salks and ascends.
How do these two speakers compare to the Paradigms? The highest end speaker I have heard is the Studio and Signature series. I'm interested if the Salk and Ascend towers can match these in performance and sound. Obviously Paradigms are more expensive, but I thought since the other two are ID, they may compare. When I buy my next speaker, it will be one of these 3 brands. I will buy based solely on best performer regardless of price.
I like a speaker that feel like it wraps around you...to me the Paradigms did that.

Panasonic P60ST50-Yamaha RX-V467 receiver-Sony PS3-Velodyne SMS-1-Canton 430 mains, 455 center and 402 surrounds-Rythmik FV15HP subwoofer- Pro-ject Debut III turntable- I also have a pair of Mark K's DIY design, the ER18DXT's

Bringing the thread back from the dead I see
There should be some thoughts posted about the sigs in here? If not, maybe Warp will chime in. I can say, the Sig line's Be Tweeter is much better than the Studios. As for what speaker fits you out of this group would depend on what you look for in performance(output, bass extension, timbre accuracy, mid range clarity, top end extension, etc)

I can say I did just upgrade my Ascend Towers to the RAAL tweeter(and new crossover). We hope to get the speakers together again soon for another comparison.

Would the Ascend tower or Salk Song bird be more similar to the Paradigms?
Which would sound more like the Paradigms and would it be comparable to the Signature or Studio line?

I think both compare favorably to the sig line especially when the ascends and salks use the RAAL tweeters. The paradigms are a very dynamic speaker while the song birds will most likely give out much sooner.
