Hello,

I would like to have a setup where the left and right as well as the surround left and surround right are stand-up speakers. This is for a 5.1 system. Preferably a wireless sub, but that is not critical.

Seems to be a bit difficult to find online.

This is one option for subs

This would be a little cheaper

This is your transmitter

What is the budget for the speakers?

"What is the budget for the speakers?"

I was hoping to spend about 1500 for all the speakers (including sub), but it looks like I may have to allocate a bit more.

Depends on how much quality you want - get the best you can afford,
Even if you have to save up for the surrounds.

Without knowing the budget, I'll just throw out there that if I had about $1000 to spend on a system with your requirements I wouldn't hesitate to go with:

4 x Pioneer FS51

1 x Pioneer C21

1x Epik Legend (forsaking native wireless capability)

EDIT: Now seeing the $1500 budget, I would simply buy an Epik Empire instead of the Legend. This would be a really high bang-for-the-buck system.

lots of options for $1500.

Boston Acoustics VR-1 towers x 4, great clearance price
http://www.bostonacoustics.com/VR1-Black-Only-P310.aspx

Boston VRC center
http://www.onecall.com/product/Bosto...aker/_/R-20795

That'll leave you $800 for a very nice Epik Empire subwoofer.

I would put the Pioneer and Boston speakers on your list.

For your info - I would look at this - KEF
