I am experiencing a weird problem with my center channel speaker. It is a Klipsch Synergy C2 and when it is close to my 31" JVC crt HDTV the left woofer will buzz when the tv is on. This happens even when my 6.1 Yamaha receiver is turned off. If the tv is turned off the buzzing stops. If I pull the speaker 1 1/2 feet (about 1/2 meter) away from the tv the buzzing stops. What's going on and what can I do to fix it? I can't pull it out too far or it will be too close to the listener.

Take the driver out and see if there is a loose "something" inside...

It may need a new driver.

EMF interference is rare...but it happens.

I am inclined to agree with you about emf. I highly doubt it needs a new driver if the woofer stops buzzing when 1 1/2 feet away from the tv and the receiver is on or off. Even if I don't have the receiver on, the buzzing still happens. That's I say it's weird. However, it is only effecting the left woofer. Maybe a new driver is in order. I will take it apart and check for loose connections.

You could always swap woofer sides. I have no idea if the internal wiring is series or parallel, but if it is a "side thing" and not a woofer thing...then it is crossover related.

If the woofers are ran series, then it can't be the crossover.

So then you don't believe it has anything to do with shielding? If it is emf, what can I do?
