I am building a house and need advice on how to place the in-wall & in-ceiling speakers. I don't have the speakers yet but will be needing to tell the builder where I want them to cut holes for the rear, front L&R and center channels. It will be a 5.1 setup. They were originally going to do 4 in-ceiling speakers but I think I am going to be able to get them to cut holes for in-ceiling in the rear and in-wall above the fireplace for the LCR speakers.
I guess my question is: what size and placement of the holes should I tell them for the speakers without knowing the speakers I will be using and the size of my TV? Is there a standard size for a round, in-ceiling speaker? Is there a standard placement for in-wall speakers for LCR?
Also, I have a decent 5.1 set of speakers now but they aren't in-wall. Would I be able to use them or would it not work?
Thank you in advance!
