My current setup is:

Receiver Marantz SR5600
CC: KEF iQ-60c
Fronts: KEF Q-55
Subwoofer: Energy s8.3
Rears: Boston Acoustic Bravo
TV: Sharp 46" LC46D65U
Blu-ray: Samsung BDC6500

Recently had to flip media room and living room and wife really wants my big KEF Q-55's to disappear. Haven't really bought any new speakers for quite some time and would like something wall mountable or small bookshelf. I didn't see anything that would really work at KEF's site. Is there any other speakers I can match up with the cc to use as the fronts (would prefer not buying all new equipment). I called Vanns as I know they distribute KEF and they recommended Mirage OS3's but I don't know how those will go as fronts. The room size is about 13 x 13, the back has no wall (opens to entry foyer)

Thanks for helping - happy wife, happy life.

Well, the Q-55, while floor standing, isn't really that large. Since I guess telling her "No!" isn't going to happen, what are her expectations for size? If the KEF iQ30 is too large then maybe you are headed toward Energy Take Classic territory or something.

If you are willing to let go of the KEF center, the Ascend HTM-200's make for a really nice, compact, and inexpensive LCR setup. I've heard them in a much, much larger room than yours with a Hsu STF-1 sub and they were impressive. Mated with your Energy S8.3 I'm sure it would make for a fine sounding and WAF approved setup.

Unfortunately "no" isn't an option (tried and failed). Ideally thinking something thin and wall mount or I guess I need to go book shelf route. Fortuately room isn't that large at 13x13.

Not familiar with those Energy's but I'll look them up. They'll go nicely with the KEF cc?

Thanks!

Yeah, not so much a match for the KEF. More like a mini-sat replacement for the system. The iQ-30 is probably about the best match you're going to find for the center. From there it's a crap shoot of trial and error. It really comes down to how well matched you want your LCR front stage to be.

Maybe something along the lines of this Energy system would work for you. It's certainly a step up from the Take system and you could even sell the included sub to recoup some of the cost. These are essentially rebranded Athena WS series speakers for a great price. Energy and Athena are both owned by Klipsch.

Boston E60 is my main reccomendation - you can buy 3 of these. They
have been designed and voiced - to also turn sideways, for center use.

Look at getting 3 of the Radius 225 - they can be shelf or wall mounted.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

First to clutchy - been married 11+ years, got to know what battles to fight, this one isn't bad as I get some new toys and hold the KEF in reserve for a potential 2nd home theater (if not then just a kick ass stereo in my basement)

Not so keen on the Eneryg recommendation, the Monitor Audio Radius' look really nice and reading up on them I figure sound will be what I'm looking for? Anyone know dealers other than Saturday Audio (I need black they didn't have).

I'm somewhat familiar with the BA e60's those may work as well, but rather treat myself.
