While many like the high contrast exotic woods similar to what is shown in the photo, I think it would have a different and maybe more appealing look to some if it were ordered with a simpler and darker wood pattern (example - a similar wood finish as shown on the stock 5A in the photo). I know that as it is shown in the photo that it would have no WAF from my wife but in somethng more basic, it may. (Perhaps in the similar finish as the Piano in the photo).

Here are some photo exemplars of both styles of veneer. It's a slide show....http://philharmonicaudio.com/cabinets.html

So I am looking into get the philharmonitors for an LCR setup. I am looking to replace my current speaker towers and center channel with something with more clarity and for viewing movies and TV with the occasional gaming and music. Will these work out well. My budget is around 1500 for all 3 speakers.

I moved a couple months ago and was lucky enough to get a place that allowed for multiple setups, unlike my last place. Now my Phil 3s are all by themselves out in the living room with about as optimal a placement as I could get them. I don't know if it is the better placement, the fact that the apartment is brand new/better acoustically than the old place, or some combination of the two but the Phil's sound better than ever. My GF has said a few times that she can't believe there's no sub hooked up and I agree. Which isn't to say the bass is overwhelming or bloated, the overall presentation is just better top to bottom. As it stands I'm running 3.0 in the living room and want to go to 5.0, but given how things sound right now I'm not really concerned about the .X.

In any case, more fun times with the Phil's.

And Thanksgiving greetings to all--particularly you, Mudslide. I'm very thankful for all the friends I've made with Philharmonic Audio, and the opportunity to share my passion with music lovers everywhere. It has been a good year.

That is what I have, and I am very happy with it. Will it be better than your current set? I have no idea without knowing your current setup.

Ooops guess I forgot that minor deal

I have edesign a6-6t6 towers and a6-mtm center. It sounds ok but I am looking to upgrade. I did just bite on some emptek towers and center to see how they are and if I'm not happy I will look for something else.

You may like the Emptek if you don't push them hard at all, they tend to distort and harsh sounding at higher volume levels, just my impressions, they are nice to look at though.

I don't normally crank up my system when watching since I mainly watch at night when most of the family is asleep. I do crank it up when watching a game or a fight. Mainly stick to my headphones for music. Thanks for the feedback.

You're welcome, like I said that's only at at very high volume levels, you should be fine especially with free return shipping if you don't like them.
Cheers Jeff

That sounds more like something you want. Get use to disappointment.

I don't really have anything to contribute other than to say that I've been lucky enough to get my hands on 3 different DM designs. While I got some price breaks from the used market, I went through a fair bit of effort to actually get the speakers.

No regrets.

The jist of my last post was that DS-21 isn't interested in courtesy. I was trying to be witty and had no intent to disparage either Dennis or RJ. For those of you who like DS-21, disparage means put down.

Considering the philharmonitors with center channel. Having not heard these speakers but some have said they have a neutral sound to them. Read one review several pages back. Have listened to paradigm studio 10's and they were somewhat bright for me. Would the philharmonitors be in the same class of sound but without the brightness of the paradigm's? What brand of speaker would the philharmonitors sound resemble? Thank you.

A very merry Christmas wish to all of us fortunate Philharmonic Audio speaker owners! And also a huge thank you to the guy who brings 'em to us. Merry Christmas, Dennis.
