It's be nice to see some photos! (But I think you need 3 posts to post photos.)

I'll have to get my post count up then post some. They're a standard maple veneer with a satin finish. Old style with the roundover and no trapezoid effect. Tremendous speakers for sure.

Did you get the standard rear port or did you go sealed?

I didn't realize there was a sealed version of the Philharmonic 3. Is there?

Sorry, I was thinking that you got the BMR's. Sealed Philharmonic 3's would be a stupid ideal.

I guess on the bright side, we are one post closer to seeing speaker pictures and this will end the confusion.

lol, yup. I get back home pretty soon and I'll grab some pictures. I don't think I have any on my phone. The next upgrade from the Phils won't happen for many years and it will probably be in Salk's Soundscape line. Other than that, I'm more than happy with the Phil's.

That being said, it won't stop me from DIY'ing until my fingers fall off

Here's some pictures for you!

2 1/2 year old meets Phil Slims...

I think she had to unscrew the port tube to get his arm out.

Question for Dennis: Haven't made it home yet to assess the damage. Do you think I can just stick the port back in or do you think there is something he maybe messed up inside?

I think I have a better option for you. If you are going to run your speakers shoulder length from the wall you might what to get another 2 1/2 years old for the other side and run your speaker sealed. This option does get expensive in the long run and you will have to keep replacing the port plugs as those models tend to grow over time.

As luck would have it, I actually do have another 2 1/2 year old to plug the other port. And when those two grow too large I have two more that are only 4 months old that will be able to take their place...

My wife has told me though that the speakers need to leave the family room so I will probably bring the Slims to the office and wall mount some KEF LS50's I have that aren't being used.

Too bad about moving them though. I don't think we've seen photos of your Slims. How's about it? Make me jealous!

Well, after almost two years of hibernation, I'm going to be getting out and setting up my Phil 2s. It's been a long wait, but after moving to a new house, I'll have a dedicated office/listening area for Phils.

The flooring has to go in first and it should be arriving today. The Phil 2s are headless at the moment. As a result, any such pics may be NSFW.

Here is a picture from March last year. I've already removed the Phils from the family room and have an installer coming out today to look into wall mounting the Kef's.

I have clearly chosen the form(s) of my destructor...

That is the scariest thing I've seen in a long time.

My daughters are fully grown (in their 20's) but in toddler days, one stuffed my nakamichi tape drive with dried leaves (and closed the door) and the other slid a peanut butter and jelly sandwich into my state of the art VCR.

Good luck, the wall didn't do its job, apparently - they are formidable adversaries.

Maybe both.

Really though, speaking of my 60" television. It's a bedroom set I almost never watch.

I misread the first time and thought you were going to wall-mount the kids. Might be worth considering...

charmerci I only have the 2 way New Phils, because someone convinced me the bmr wouldn't fit on my desk. Meanwhile like 5 guys bought bmr and posted pics of them on their desks in this thread or on SBAF. oh well. They sound awesome and inspired me to upgrade amps to monoblock odyssey kismets which really took them to the next level.

I have the kef q900 in a different room on a receiver only, but they are noticeably not as good in the highs and if I play them without the sub the lows are a little hollow sounding(can hear the less braced cabinet?) compared to how tight the New Phils are despite the new phils being tiny with smaller woofers. Still easy to live with especially since I use them for movies only now.

idea for a new orange port tube
