Right now i am using the center channel and surrounds from my yamaha yht393bl HTIB. http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-YHT-393...1352553&sr=1-1

I am using dlk 1 1/2's for the fronts right now and the receiver I am using is an onkyo rc180.

I want to get a new center channel that sounds a lot better than the one I have now but really don't want to spend that much.
The polk cs10 seems to have a lot of good reviews on amazon.com
WOuld you guys recommend this? How much of an upgrade would it be? Anything you think is better around that price? (90-150 or so)

Thanks

Jake

Well you really should get a center than matches your DLK's but I am willing to bet that is next to impossible

The CS10 from polk is ment to be used with other Polk TSi line speakers.

Some better options would be the: (Keep in mind none of these with acoustically match the DLK's but they will have more of a pressence than the Yamaha HTIB speakers)

The rule of thumb is to have your front three speakers be of the same brand and model to insure an even sound across the front soundstage. Not everyone can follow this and considering your receiver does room correction that may help the situation a little bit. But I would still say if you can try to get either the center channel that matches or another DLK 1-1/2 that would be best.

out of those which would you go with? How noticeable is it if it doesn't acoustically match perfectly? IN the near future I am probably going to be buying some tekton lores so it matching those would be the best. I have no idea if he will build a center to match... if so I'll do that eventually but just wanted something better for now.

Out of them none... As they could be very acoustically different to your speakers

I'd try "phantom center" just disabling the center channel on receiver and unplugging the yamaha speaker.

But if you were willing to upgrade the other front left and right then I would buy a center than matches them

If you are anywhere near Wisconsin...
http://cgi.ebay.com/DLK-Model-1-1-2-...t_12273wt_1178
http://cgi.ebay.com/DLK-Model-1-Ster...item27bcc233ea

You could use one of the 2nd set of 1.5 as your center...the 1's as your rears...with a speaker left over for parts.

thanks for the links! I am nowhere near wisconsin though unfortunately

I will have to look around and see what I can come up with.

Would you guys suggest definitely changing the center speaker or maybe the sub first? I was thinking about going with this:

heard a lot of good things about it.
