(Had typed all of below --actually lots more--then 'server failure to respond.' It all disappeared. Not happy. System dead 10 minutes--and erased all my work.)

I don't want to start any kind of war, but would like honest comment...

I am not an audiophile, but do need to get 5.1 speakers for a setup in a new room. AVR has not been purchased but will be a low-mid about $300, so you can see I am not into high end stuff.

But I would like some decent speakers in the size range of the Acoustimass line, but way less cost. Is there such a thing?

Go to harmanaudio.com and look for http://www.harmanaudio.com/Search_Br...45.5BK&status=

You can also find good 6 piece at their factory eBay store http://cgi.ebay.com/JBL-SCS145-5-Hom...#ht_3379wt_754

I have a jbl 5.1 small two way set and the Harman Kardon 5.1, they have the same drivers just different styling. In the size category they sound great.
