Should be another outstanding speaker. Glad they are more recyclable than ever. (not that you'd ever wish these things to be recycled...)

Bah here comes the upgradeitus. Just got my monitor 7s v.6 last year and now they make such large changes to the v.7. The drivers look so much better.

Hmmm.... in the market to upgrade and was looking seriously at Monitor 11 v6. Thanks for posting the info on the v7. Looks like a step-up except I am a little disappointed in the new center. The v6 line had 3 centers including the CC-390 with 7 drivers. That's what I was probably going to get, mostly used for movies. With the v7 line, there are only 2 centers and the biggest one has 4 drivers. Bummer! I wonder if this would be a step-down for movies?

FYI: Paradigm has moved away from the "v" designation. Officially the new models are "Series 7," not v7/version 7.

It's a shame they dropped the Titan Monitor... I'm a fan of large driver bookshelfs, mainly because they allow for a slightly lower crossover taking some stress off subwoofer amps. The Titan was one of the few mainstream models left with a mid/woofer larger than 6.5".

It looks like Paradigm is moving away from dipole surrounds to bipole surrounds with the latest Monitors. On the catalog page they're referred to as bidirectional.

Pretty cool to see technology from the Studio series trickling down to the Monitors.

No big surprise that they dropped the Titan and the CC-390 mega-center. They must not have sold many of them...

Something else interesting about the new centers...it looks like they're sealed. All the other speakers list "bass reflex", but the centers don't.

Yeah the cc-390 is just way too massive....no one can fit it!!! haha And I dont think they would seal their centers......on the cc-290 paradigm site they dont say "bass reflex" either but they do have "bass reflex" holes in the back as well as their cc-190.

For those of us who can fit it, its sad to see the beast cut out of the new series

In a hypothetical situation, if I found myself upgrading from v6 to Series 7, it would feel like a total downgrade going from a CC-390 to a Center 3.

I have the following confirmation from Paradigm. "The Monitor Series 7 is manufactured on our 1st tier production line in China. The drivers and cabinets are designed in-house and proprietary to us".

Anyone want a Paradigm Monitor v.6 5.1 system?? Lol. I'm actually thinking of upgrading to the version 7's if I could sell my current system! I haven't had the v.6 that long. Currently have the Monitor 11's, cc290, adp390's and the dsp3200 which I might just keep. Anyone looking for those I live in Edmonton,Alberta!!

And anyone who has listened to the new version 7's post what you think of them!! Sound wise and everything compared to the v.6's. Thanks.

Not to sound racist or predjudice, because i surely am not.... But the v.7 was lookin pretty good until i saw that they were made in china. I understand that the cabinets and drivers are manufactured by paradigm, but still, i cant get over the fact that they moved final assembly to china. I just prefer American/canadian speakers. I think I'll stick with my v.6 (made in canada)

Have been planning on the Monitor 11's for a while now and expect to get some good pricing now that the Series 7's are out. Couple of questions though, what would you consider to be a good A/V receiver in the $1000 range. Been looking at Anthem, Denon and Onkyo. Usage is 60% music / 40% movies. Sound quality is most important and I often like to listen to my music loud... no, I should say, real loud!

Your next upgrade should be to the Studio Series.

I have always had Integra receivers with my Paradigm M-9s. My 8.2 which still works was just replaced with an Integra 40.2. Integra and Paradigm are an excellent match.

I'm sad to see Ontario lose more manufacturing jobs with this new series of speakers. When Shoreview Industries took over the company in 2005, their growth strategy was to pursue additional low-cost sourcing and manufacturing opportunities in Asia, and we've seen that already with the Anthem receivers and MilleniaOne speakers. It's great to see them release new products, but it's also disappointing they can't make them their big factory in Toronto. The currency exchange rate alone has increased their costs by two thirds in the last nine years, so it's inevitable they would shift production to China to be able to compete in the US market. For American customers it creates a bigger price gap between this line and the Reference line, putting the Studio and Signature speakers further out of reach. I don't think this is good for Paradigm over the long term, but it's necessary for them to stay profitable to survive.

This graph shows the exchange rate between the Canadian and American dollars over the last ten years:

I would love to jump up to the Studio series but money wise the jump up is soooooo much which they should narrow imo!! How much is a pair of Studio 60's?? Cause I bet just those 2 speakers is what I paid for my entire 5.1 Monitor System haha

I am amazed than no one considers the SE series a bargain. Most of the owners look past them to the studio series. SE series has most of the components of the studio, the affordability of the monitor series, they are made in Canada, look and sound fantastic...what am I missing?

I just purchased/ordered a pair of the Monitor 7 v6 from a local shop. They didn't have them in stock, so I'm waiting for them. The purchase order said they were v6. Is it possible they might get me the Series 7 instead?

I'm a little concerned by them dropping to a single 5 1/2" for the bass driver...

Although I do like the idea of them being on a pedestal now instead of the spikes/feet.

I'm curious to see what people think of the new ones versus the 6 or even older series...
