I had tentatively settled on getting the Energy RC Micro speakers with a BIC F12 and Denon 1612. Basically due to cost and size constraints and recommendations on this forum. However I cannot find the Micro speakers without the Energy Sub. As I was searching for this option I saw this on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Energy-RC-Micr...=pd_rhf_shvl_3

This is like getting the receiver for free as the price for the Micro 5.1 is $599 also.
Or should I just go with the Energy Take 5.0 for $299 and add the Denon 1612 and BIC f12?

Opinions??

Room is 17x17x10. I have been advised that the Energy Micros may not fill this room but I do not want bookshelf speakers or towers.

Not sure about the Micros, but the Take Classics did a great job in my living room that is 20something x 15 x 8. They might not FILL the room like bigger speakers would, but the Micros or Takes will do a very decent job at it for how big they are.

For those looking into getting Energy speakers, or upgrading their current Energy setup, here are some reviews I've written that may help:http://www.tempestaudio.blogspot.com  (haven't updated in a while, but include Energy Take Classic 5.1, RC-10, CF-70, and CC-10)

That room is way way to big for a satellite speaker system. Might want to look to slightly larger speakers like the Energy CB-5's with a CC-5 center. Or Polk Monitor 30's series ii from newegg.com

Macstatic - Can you respond to the other questions in my post? Are the micros sold without the sub? Or is the sub that's included okay? And is that deal anything to consider?

They only sell the Micros as part of a 5.1 system.

The Harman Kardon box looks pretty cool but it has limitations including no HDMI inputs. So you cant connect your cable/sat box/DVR to it. Or any gaming machines that use HDMI.

For the price not a bad deal but be aware the expandability is limited.

I think that's the going rate right now. Crutchfield used to sell them for $399 but they dont have anymore. The Energy RC Micro 5.1 originally went for $999 so that was quite a deal.

If you have to pay $599 might as well get the HK blu ray receiver as a throw in. you could always sell it to someone else.

Do you think the Take Classics for $379 would be a better choice?

You could build your own 5.0 set right now at Vanns for a good price if the CB-10s and CC-5 aren't too big. Would run you $400. Use this promo page and enter "energy" as the code. Then view the CB-10 and CC-5 to get the price. You would get much better midrange due to the bigger woofers in the CB-10 and CC-5.

For some reason, the CB-5s aren't on special at Vanns. Only the CB-10s, and are priced less than the CB-5s.
