I have a question in regards to a new surround sound to pair with my Samsung PN64d7000 & Elite VSX-33. Ideally, I prefer to spend less than $1500 to replace my old Bose set and am looking at the following Def Tech systems (2 used). I have a few questions in regards to these systems. Room is 14x20

- Pro Cinema 800 for $700

- 2 BP-6B Front, 2 BP-2X Surround, 1 CLR-2002 for $650 (used)

- 2 BP7006 Front, 2 Mythos Gem Surround, Mythos Eight Center $1500 (Used)

Just curious which will suit this size room the best and which is the best deal? Also, if either of the used set-up's are worth it, what sub would pair up nicely with each?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hmmm...

The Def. Tech. bi-polar's are okay if you go with their upper models, but another option would be Mirage's omni-polar speakers. They do look sexy and throw an even wider sound stage when setup properly!

Vann's has some competitive sale prices on the Mirage speakers. Extra discount ends today, however.

OMD-15 in rosewood - floorstanders (also comes in black) $450 each

OMD-C1 (center) $350 each

OMD-5 (for the surrounds) - $170 each

Get a subwoofer a bit later... or just go for it!

HSU VTF-2 mk4 subwoofer - $550 each

Compared to your Bose setup... you will start crying at how much better this package sounds!

Listen up, studios! Just say "NO" to DNR and EE!!

I was leaning towards this set. Appreciate the input! Now I'm looking for a sub that would compliment the system, would the definitive PF15 work well with this setup? If not, what would you recommend?
