Hi,

Has anyone heard the new Airmotiv powered speakers from Emotiva? If so I was wondering what you thought of them and also how they compared to the Audioengine(both A2 & A5) and Swan powered speakers as those are the ones I see most often mentioned here. Also interested in comparisons with Focal XS and B&W MM-1 too if heard those as well.

Thanks.

They're in a class above the A2. The Airmotiv5 looks like an A5 equivalent. I
have the A2 and A5, and I'd like to hear those Emotivas.

Ribbon so the Emotiva would most likely be better not to mention they're known for their amps. I'm waiting for their Reference series that has no built in amp but uses the same tweeter.

The Emotiva Airmotiv speakers are just rebranded QMS powered monitors. Have nothing to do with their amps at all.

You sure they didn't touch the inside at all? Too bad QMS doesn't cost way cheaper than those Airmotivs...

I need a good solid pair of speakers for my office and am on the fence between the A5 and airmotiv4. Too bad no one bought both of these at the same time and auditioned them side by side as they both have 30day return policy.

I've heard both and preferred the airmotiv speakers.

I'm currently in the same situation, looking at these speakers for my office. I think I am passing on the Audioengines, but I would like to hear more about the Swans. I have heard the Airmotivs and I thought they were nice, but I want to make sure I get the best speaker for my budget ($500).
Any thoughts on how the MK200III would compare to the Airmotivs? Or anyone else get similar speakers that they could recommend?
