I just purchased the MLT-2. Price point was good, very happy with results. Not an audiophile, but much better than 11 year old Sony cubes.
I had same issues with the mounting, trying to figure out what the hell those two holes were for. Terrible directions in the users manual. In the end, the universal speaker mounting kits (I dug out my extras from 10 years ago--"Sound Gear Satellite series"--still available online!) worked. The two holes have no threads, but the kit comes with a variety of screws. I used 2 of the short thick screws slightly larger than the holes which can be GENTLY screwed through the base plate, attaching it to the speaker. I strongly suggest you use a screw driver, avoiding an electric drill. MUCH better than simply hanging it by the one keyhole off a screw drilled into the wall.
Saw a ton of posts for this without any answers. It took a couple of gulps for me to start screwing into the new speakers, Happy I did. Hope it helps. John
