Hey guys...

I am running a full 7 channel Focal Chorus system.
Fronts are 836V
Center is 800CC
Sides are 800SR
Rears are 705V

They are all running off a Pioneer Elite SC-05.

They are in a dedicated theater. 100% movies.

My dialog seems very low. I know I can increase the channel level of the center and/or decrease the other channels in the AVR.

But at the end of the day, the center channel is only 2-way with three total drivers... The fronts are 3-way and have 5 drivers each.

I have to imagine the channel level adjustment is only going to get me so far.

I have an investment in these speakers... How 'bad' would it be to upgrade only my center to something like the Paradigm CC690?

It seems like the center channel I have was an afterthought from Focal!

yes the center is not the greatest, especially to match the 836's. i would not however switch brands.

look into the profile cc908, it is a 3way, the tweeter is very similar to the chorus. this would probably match better than a paradigm.

i have a pair of 807 as my fronts and i need to get a center. i'm kinda in the same boat as you, i dont really want the cc800 as my center. but i'm thinking of buying another 807 to put in the center that way i will have 3 matching speakers across the front.
but i am assuming you cant fit a tower in the middle to match your l/r. besides it would be hard to find a single tower for sale.

check ebay there is a cc908 for sale right now, you can probably get it cheap. i would buy it if i had the money...

Thanks Chris.

I agree with you on not wanting to switch brands. But man... That Paradigm 690 is a monster!

I am going to look into the profile and electra lines from Focal.

yeah those paradigms are huge!, its the only reason i had considered going with paradigm before going with focal. The electra BE line is sweet, but expensive! hopefully one day.
