i bought dre beats, in ear headphones. no warranty. the headphones worked right at first for few months now the left side doesn't work. keeps going in and out. trying to figure out how to get repaired. called monster and they said that with out warranty they wont replace. asked if they can repair them and they said no they just will throw them out and replace with a new if warrantied. any suggestions on how to get them repaired or just throw away and by new with a warranty?

I don't have any helpful advice for your situation with the Beats, but if you decide to go in another direction I can suggest Etymotic Research IEMs...I bought a pair recently and they are much better than I expected. Also heard great things about Ultimate Ears and also Brainwavz.

Ultimate ears TripleFi 10s are very nice iem's as well. Not sure what your budget is and how deep you want to dive into quality.

LOL, if the OP liked the sound of the Beats, then he will not care for the sound of the 2 recommendations!
That said, both are great recommendations, and for a budget set of IEM's that really sound great try these: MEElectronics A151-BK. They are giant-killers at $50. Accurate, not boomy, nice soundstage.
Beats? Really?

Yeah, beware of Monster's marketing. You wont find many fans here of any of their products.

+1

Like AVS, only focusing on headphones. I would go there for headphone research and help before here.

Don't forget about NuForce in ears. They are awesome and come highly rated on headfi.org. I will check into the MEElectronics A151-BK as I like that they are the same price as the NuForce that I bough. The best $50 I ever spent. I don't buy anything monster as they are just over priced.
