Hey guys, I making this thread for uncle, he's not too much of a forum savvy guy.

Basically he's debating between this two and would like to hear what AVS has to say. He's heard the 8060'S and enjoys the sound very much but he's also heard great things about the PSB T6 towers. Both pair of speakers can be had at the same price around $1400 shipped or less shipped. It will 70% theater 30% music. What speakers would you guys choose?

Thanks In advance.

Haven't heard the PSBs but would expect them to have a better, cleaner midrange and highs. Similar I'm told to B&Ws in that price range.

I demoed the 8060s next to some B&W 683s. The 683s were clearly superior sounding (to my ear) in the midrange and highs. It was almost as if the 8060s were playing through a thick blanket. I'm told the PSBs have a similar sound to the 683.

The 8060s though sounded fuller, had a near 3d affect (in the room I was in) and were much warmer sounding. For HT the 8060s would do pretty good without a dedicated sub and for 2 channel listening they were really nice, I just preferred the midrange and highs of the 683s.

The PSB probably have more low end than the 683 but you'll need a good AVR or amp to get it out of them. The 8060s can get by with much less power.

If he has decent power the PSBs would be my pick. Might eventually want to add a sub to the mix though.

He's looking at a denon 3312 to power the speakers. Thanks for the post, kini.
Anyone else care to share their thought?

I demo'd the B&W 683 and the PSB Image T6. Very close call but I chose the T6. I may change my mind again. They're both excellent.

I have heard both and like the Image T6 Tower Speakers better then the B&W. I am a little bit of a PSB head but for my ears you are paying for the B&W badge. The midrange was way better on the T6's.

See if you can listen to both. that's always my suggestion
